I'd say put it in your role command to let immortals know you didn't know and/or note them. Players can't tell who you have grouped with and when you come back to destroy that dwarf/mino in the future, they will just have to deal with it.

Worst case scenario you don't get into Outlander and your roleplay it out another way. Let it affect your character as something like that would instead of abandoning it.
