1) I basically consider anything done pre-level-5 to not count towards the character's ideology. That said, I usually keep coins long enough to go through the Newbie Academy (buy enough food to get me by until I can trade for some, water, and a sack). Reasoning for this is that Daevryn has said on numerous occasions that Academy time doesn't count towards the civilized/wilderness time, which means (for me) that it's outside of the realm of 100% roleplay.

"Drop coins" is a valid command, btw, to dump all the coins you're carrying (if you didn't know). I really wish there were a "nogive coins" command where I could accept other items, just not coins.

2) I've ranked on wild animals as several Outlanders and have always found a good reason why. However, I believe that I've either heard firsthand or seen it mentioned in a thread by an imm that there's a penalty for killing too many wild creatures.

3) Once you're in the Outlander cabal, look around the Tree. There's some info there. Outside of the cabal, people have already mentioned several locations.

- As Chaisse, I used to "steal wine" from a fountain that had it. This was an effective, cheap source of booze when I filled a big container with it.

- After you get inducted into the cabal and you've ranked up a bit, take advantage of your windwalk ability and explore every nook and cranny you can find. There are secret Outlander things that no one can tell you about and no one can discuss.

- Take notes about what you find with every character you play. You may find a useless item, but may be light, easy to obtain, and valuable. These are good items to know about since you can use them to barter with as an Outlander.
