One can enter CF in numerous ways. The basic idea is to telnet to host "carrionfields.com" and use port "9999". If you're unfamiliar with the terms "telnet," "host," or "port" that might be the problem.

You can use the "Connect!" link on the CF Web pages. This connect your computer via telnet to carrionfields.com 9999. However, you need the proper software (I think the default telnet software for Windows is Hyperterminal).

A bit more advanced than this is software called a "MUD Client." This is software specifically designed to MUD. There are many such programs, I think the most popular are zMUD and Wintin. I can't give you specific instructions for setting up a MUD client to connect to CF because each will be different, but they'll all have some place to enter a "host" or "site" name and a port.
