While I think it's the nuances available to all characters that makes CF such a great game, I'm also inclined to speculate that Paladins have the least wiggle-room of any class when it comes to their behavior. Not only do they have the code, but the paladin helpfile specifically states that "They are also formidable fighters, always questing
to stamp out evil."

I wouldn't say that Fzoarn played his paladin "wrong," as when it comes to roles it's very hard for a player to make a call like that about another player. However, I think that anyone who interacted with him could make a fine case that his behavior was more Orderly Neutral than Orderly Good most of the time.

Obviously this is a risk that many Tribunals take. I had similar feelings about Lamayinn, that Trib AP who was amazing in all respects, except for being so un-evil that it could hardly be ignored.

I think it's fair that Tribunal, especially, be given some leeway when it comes to how far from Good or Evil they drift, considering the demands put upon them by the job, but in a case like Fzoarn, I can see from the comments that I'm not the only one who questioned just Paladin-y he tended to act.

All in all I think it's good for players to stretch the limits of their alignment and ethos, but I maintain that Paladins need to be held to a higher standard than most. Except for murdergnome shifters. Turn those little bastards evil after their second offense.
