Healers are basically the only way you can get a decent amount of commerce XP at a decent speed. You can run around and barter for junk and then barter that junk for more junk until you finally lose your money in it (which makes no sense really). But even then that's not the same as popping 20 owlbear feathers for heals or pearls, garnets, sapphires and emeralds, and troll goodies for refreshes.

But I personally think the battle applicant process is really screwed up right now. I've never liked the "Village Applicant" tag from the get go. But I also don't like how all the religions seem pigeonholed for one single cabal. It ends up bleeding the religion into cabal dogma and that annoys me too. Ends up any original take on anything gets viewed the same way we look at physically deformed people.

If Hammersong is going to say he doesn't approve of the healer, and the other imms will say the same thing, then why is it even there? I mean, there's a whole village sect based on healing, why not make it one of those? Put one outside the village. Hell, spread them around. Put one in the glauruk spawning ground, one on the Udgaard plains, one in the Oryx Steppes, ect. You pay for a poultice and a bandage and some kind of refresh juice that all puts timers on you like the defender powers. There, problem solved.
