#23380, "RE: Straw man. Simply ignore my bolded statement."
|
As a Vindicator, you are the wrath of the law. Vindicators is a hard position to get, because its not merely a bounty hunter. You need to be responsible. If I rolled a vindicator today and raided opposing cabals with no criminals, took my guards out ranking, and etc. with an Immortal watching me I would be booted or at the least, being that Astein isn't around anymore, given a stern talking to.
*** >First of all, now you can't get into the spire unless you're a tribunal. They blocked off the entrance.
Untrue. The entrance is part of the Spire.
-That is *at the guardian*. It wasn't at the time of this log, today's standards are irrelevant to the point of whether Oblain made a mistake. The log couldn't have happened today so what relevance does your statement have? You cannot be before the guardian now, you're either at it or not there.
*** >The reason for this is because of retrievals
This has nothing to do with a retrieval, so ignore that point.
-The reasoning has everything to do with if you understand the laws or not. A Vindicator should understand the laws, they're not your typical every day order-takers.
>Secondly, that's never been a protected area.
That doesn't matter. The Spire and the laws have changed.
-Read the laws taken from the log attached. It was not a protected area, clearly. It does matter.
*** >I didn't bother to search through my logs for the rest of the convo, you are mistaken on Zaklotel's thoughts. I know he mistook you for him
That was part of my point. Read, comprehend and all that. From my previous post: "Or perhaps he thought you actually did attack Kelrizza and since Kelrizza didn't flag you, you shouldn't be flagged."
-A justiciar is the 'master of investigation'. If the master of investigation cannot figure out the laws, he shouldn't be considered a master of investigation at all. 'I saw/heard the screams' (which never occurred), what part of that is Justiciar material? If he made another mistake on top of that (assuming that only the person who gets attacked has the right to place the warrant) then that's proving the point more that he frankly didn't know what the hell he was doing.
*** >Oblain stated, 'I wasn't really paying attention', great job, you're bashing away at someone as a Vindicator who did nothing wrong.
See my bolded point in my previous post. Whether or not he was paying attention is irrelevant.
-He's responsible for hunting and slaying of criminals, not gallavanting around attacking non-criminals and dropping bashes based on flawed logic. Vindicators are never off duty, every person they attack as soon as the Vindicator tag is on the edge of their name should be someone incurring the wrath of the law. Either someone whose attacked them first, a frequent raider, cabal enemy, wanted person (the only people they should actively use guards for) or someone who the wrath of the law should be striking. They can't just sit on eastern killing everyone, they are no longer lap dogs to imperials or any other cabal except to the tribunal itself.
It all has to do with competancy, clearly he had very little.
*** >Pretty sad that you don't know the laws either actually. Kordenik wasn't protected there, at all.
See my point about laws changing.
- Read the laws from that log and tell me which one I broke.
*** >I know the laws pretty well. They've changed very slightly, and what you spoke of is entirely incorrect. If anything, Kordenik should've been told to leave and I asked to leave.
You may have KNOWN the laws pretty well, but you obviously are too close minded to understand the law as it is. The laws may be defined, but everything is open to interpretation. Nothing that was done here falls outside an interpretation of the laws as they are.
-Vindicators do not have the right to interpret the laws. Neither do Justiciars. Only carry them out, be it in finding guilty parties (Justiciars) or hunting criminals (Vindicators). The only person able to interpret the laws is the Provost, they act on those orders, if those orders term that nothing wrong was done their interference in the matter should not occur. Even Provosts may only make slight adjustment (such as rulings on Charmies) they cannot make a law where one does not exist.
*** Either you should have been a criminal for attacking Kordenik and Oblain and Zaklotel were justified for attacking you, or that area is unprotected and Oblain and Zaklotel were completely in their rights for attacking you in the same spot that you attacked Kordenik. Which is it?
-I should not have been a criminal. They should not have attacked. You lose free will when you have a flag next to your name. For Vindicators, this means always. You cannot go around killing whoever you please as a Vindicator and incompetancy is not allowed. Either pay attention and figure out if an attack should be made or do not attack "I was just spamming bash" is no excuse. Just as attacking a person in town by autoassisting with your group is a crime, so is it unlawful for Vindicators to go around attacking whoever they please especially when the attack is based on something as stupid as lack of reading ability.
