Lakilea's demise was on this wise:

Lakilea was greatly pleased that her beloved husband, Obaznuk, ascended to aid the Gods. He had always been a loyal follower of Lord Shokai and Lakilea was proud of his achievement.

Unfortunately, this left the beautiful Arial woman alone much of the time and, without his protection, she became more vulnerable than she had been when he was by her side. Her training as an assassin stood her in good stead most of the time, as she kept to the shadows and hid in the quiet wooded thicket that they had chosen as their nesting place. Unbeknownst to her, or even to the Gods that watched over her, there were those of the underdark who sought for her blood and flesh continually.

The vile duergar were no longer satisfied with stealing Arial eggs for their disgusting rituals of strength and bravery. They had heard of the Silver Phoenix...an Arial who possessed such extraordinary power that he had become a God. They had heard tales of Obaznuk, the brightly colored Arial who had been raised up by the Gods and Lakilea,his beautiful golden-plumed bride. There must be something very special about these Arials. The eggs were no longer sufficient to appease the appetite of blood-lust and power-seeking of the superstitious duergar. They wanted meat...Arial meat..and not just any Arial meat...they wanted the golden-plumed one who had been protected and wed by the Immortal One. A plan was devised. She would be lured into their domain, the Underdark, where she could not take advantage of the shadows, for all was in shadow there. Nor would she be able to take to the skies in the deep tunnels of the dark underground.

A hastily penned note was sent to the Heralds of the Eternal Star to be delivered to Lady Lakilea. The note was poorly written and looked almost like illegible chicken scratches, the same way Obaznuk wrote his scrolls. It was a request to come below the surface to meet Obaznuk in private, so he could give his wife a gift from the lands of the Immortals. Lakilea was so happy to hear from Obaznuk, that she put aside her fears of the Underdark and went there enthusiastically looking forward to this meeting. Once there, she realized something was horribley wrong! She could not hear his cheerful chirping and "WOOOTIE!" greeting that always told her he was nearby. There was nothing but silence. It was a TRAP!

Lakilea soon found herself surrounded by sewer dwarves...all of them drooling or foaming at the mouth, their eyes burning with lust and hunger and evil intentions. She swiftly drew her Dagger of Death and darted quickly through the gathering crowd of duergar. She noted how badly outnumbered she was as she slipped behind an outcropping in the tunnel. There were more descending from the northern passage! Attempting to keep her wits about her, and pushing down the rising tide of panic, Lakilea pulled the fishing line from the pole that her husband had given her on their first date. She deftly formed the fishing line into a garrott and used it strangle the first five dark dwarves that fell upon her, all the while kicking at others with her sharp talons and pecking with her beak. She was not going down without a fight!

In the end, there were just too many of the evil dwarves to fend off. As she felt herself dragged to the ground and beaten senseless, she wrapped her bloody hand tightly around the gold ring that was the symbol of her union with Obaznuk. Her last thought was of him, she prayed he would not be too sad when he found her gone.
