#132086, "I don't want to HJ this thread but he's not even posting so w.e."

But let's say you find out a Magistrate makes a mistake, such as ones Lochlan committed (which is to attack someone in a city when they are not warranted during their retrieval attempt).
At this point, a tribunal then owns up to their mistake, and you find that respectable. I know that Lochlan wasn't relegated/punished to a "less busy" city like they used to do back in the day, so instead you made him have to at the very most (speculation at this point) pen some internal note speaking on the dangers of what he did wrong and how to avoid such mistakes, or some other trib-related analysis of how to avoid future mistakes in the future, or something to that effect.
Now, why exactly are tribunals allowed to be shown leniency when committing the a crime versus their own hard-line no-leniency, no forgiveness approach to punishing and warranting people for that exact same crime, even ones who made mistakes (like an Imperial accidentally faerie firing his own cabalmate.) Even if we draw parallels to police today, police are reprimanded, put on leave, etc. if they have violate statutes that are *designed* to protect citizens (e.g. unlawful search and seizure). But, if they commit a serious offense, like armed robbery while on duty, they would end up having to go to trial, like a normal citizen would. This rough-shod argument ignores some factors in today's police culture (unions, corruption, etc.) But you can't endorse that as a reason
