Chapter 1

Trenacin Daleria lived a life of luxury once. His parents ran a lucrative
business importing exotic luxury goods to the upper crust of Ayr'Trinil
society. Young Trenacin thrived on the tales of distant lands which came with
the shipments, and spent many a night with mind a-whir dreaming of the day he
too would return with tales of his own exploits.

Alas, this idyll was shattered when his parents over-leveraged the business on
a shipment of fine liquors and spices from Hamsah Mu'tazz. As the caravan
headed west over the Eastern Road, it was slaughtered to the last man by a
frenzied Berserker caught in the throes of his bloodthirst. What did not go
down the dwarf's gullet to ease the pains of his rampage, went up in flames to
cook the meat of their horses.

The Daleria family was financially devastated, and the whole roost pitched in
to keep the nest above water. Taking dreary work as clerks and assistants
under those who they once dined as peers, Trenacin watched aghast as their
passion was slowly bled out of them. In choosing stable mediocrity, his
parents had elected for a steady death by degrees.

Desperate for a release, he began to work Keth'Lindyl square as a street
magician where he learned two valuable skills: How to work an audience, and
how to dodge the truncheons of the Zrynk'Alyl. The proceeds of his side
business went to feed his addiction - the theatre! Facing mounting pressure
by his family to pursue a trade, he fled Ayr'Trinil to make his fortune
adopting the stage-name Eralastorn.

Deeply curious by nature, Eralastorn seeks a life of adventure and discovery
where he may weave the mysteries he has unearthed in his travels into his
performances. Finding their rabidly incurious nature disturbing, he holds a
particular distaste for Village, and has resolved to extract recompense on
behalf of his family whom he regularly sends letters and financial aid to.
