Chapter 4

11:00 P.M. the Day of Freedom, the 5th of the Month of Battle, 13 years after they found me
A violent beast has lurked within me for some time. The stares Ive become so
accustomed to turned into jealous taunts. Jhealin finally pushed me beyond
restraint today. We were making candles and he intentionally spilled his wax
all over my lap. To make matters worse he told Masi that it was my fault,
that I was too stupid to make candles properly.

I couldnt take it. Breaking his nose was very satisfying, though now I have
no place to call home. It seems that the King and his council have been
looking for an excuse to send me on my way for some time now. I am now a
violent threat to the city and must be sent away.

I was thrown out of the gates at sunset with nothing but the clothes on my
back, a canteen, and a loaf of bread. I am sick of this forest anyway. I am
sick of the elves, and I am sick of being called the Low One. I will
journey west through the GolGalath pass, I do not know what lays beyond the
mountains, but it has to be better than what I am leaving behind. As a final
act of severance I have decided to take a new name. From now on I will be
called 'Condrylin' - the High One.
