Chapter 2

It was a day like any other when the darkness came to our village. I was out
gathering firewood when I heard the screams. I dropped my bundle and ran back
as fast as I could, my heart pounding with fear. As I reached the village, I saw
the devastation. Homes were burning, people were lying on the ground, injured
and bleeding. And there, in the center of it all, were the dark-elves. They were
laughing and jeering as they wreaked havoc, their twisted forms a grotesque sight.
But the worst was yet to come. I saw them, a group of dark-elves, they had
cornered a small child, no older than five. They were taunting him, and I could
see the fear in his eyes. I knew that I had to act fast. I knew that I had to
do something, and I remembered the stories of the empire's blood oath. They
were forcing the people of my village to swear allegiance to them or suffer the
consequences. I ran towards the dark-elves, but I was too late. The child was
killed in front of my eyes, and I felt a rage like I had never felt before. I
fought the dark-elves with all the strength I had, but they were too powerful,
and I was quickly overwhelmed. As I lay on the ground, wounded and defeated,
I knew that I could never forgive the empire for what they had done. They were
truly evil, and I vowed to spend the rest of my life fighting against them and
their kind. That was the day I truly understood the depths of the darkness and
how much it is capable of destroying. It was the day that solidified my decision
to dedicate myself to the fight against the darkness and the empire that
represented it. And it was the day that I lost my innocence, and I knew that
I could never be the same.
