Chapter 4

After having traveled in many regions I have seen and experienced much of
magics and meet many deceptive people of all races. I have found that their
weakness lies in their lies, they no longer understand the reality of the
world. In their clouded view they have lost the perception that was given to
them by the gods them selfs. In a web of lies their words loose their meaning
and results in meaningless blabbler. It could perhaps be perceived as
gibberish. While I would never blatantly lie, I would not always offer all of
the tale, as there is no reason to. Why would one tell ones foes or even
allies the whole of things. Its after all not my duty to enlighten the
ignorant and more to the point, I am no priest or preacher.

Ive found that while traveling Ive meet so many people that want my life Ive
become somewhat paranoid, and even while I have immersed myself in my spells
they have struck at me. Thinking me defenseless, though they underestimate
the means a young mage can utilize to hunt the now seemingly strong warriors.
And Ive found that exploiting that weakness and strengthening others by
cunningly letting them know where to find my foes, and even at the extent of
showing them some of the way have let my foes be more wary of striking out at
me. The common mistake of the ignorant are that a mages power lies soly in
his spells, I intend to show them the error of their ways. Though it might
take more time than I first had thought as the complexity of the spells my
guild teaches takes time to gain insight into.

I have also learn't more of the ones that call them selfs the mightiest mages
of Thera, they call them selfs Scions of the eternal night. Their goal is to
open a great portal to unleash ancient beings and magics to the world and
gain dominance over the weaker races. Opening these portals they speak of
seems to strengthen many of them, which would suit me quite well. The
enlightenment I might gain there would be worthwhile pursuing. Though I must
be wary of the deceptive nature of some of the Scions it seems. But it is as
with all things, one must be constantly aware or one will easily fall pray to
an opportunistic foe. After all even I would do so if I found it worthwhile.
