Chapter 23

It has been a while since the rites have passed, and Arratok was named
commander. He took long time companion Gredoor as his Drillmaster which was
a position deserved both in skill of war, and in dedication to the cause. His
choice was shorter lived however then he would have thought. Gredoor like
Cain passed before his time was due. Fate has a funny way of playing games
with the lives of mortals. Often in our most secure hours she will wreak
havoc on all that can be relied on. On the edge of a new war front, in a
time where one must be able to rely on their companions, Arratok was again
dealt a wound that would be hard to overcome. Gia would now be the only
pillar left from his days now too long to count. The Grey Shade was a veteran
of war, but could Arratok learn to rely on another after so many crushing
losses? Fates path is one we cannot avoid, and so Arratok must walk down it,
to whatever ends it may bring.
