Chapter 3

With a pounding headache he reached for his eyes as his head lifted up. It
was a very bright light of golden hue shining directly at him that obscured
his vision to the sides. He tried to look away from it but the light was too
magnificent to not at least try and find its source. While squinting, he
realized the light did not sting his eyes any longer and he could see much
clearer. Before him was a radiant being. He could see it had a head much like
a man but it was covered in beautifully detailed scars with intricate
patterns. Through the eyes and mouth he could see only fire, and through its
forehead shown a curved slit of blue.

"Where-where, who are you?" said Ghrondel.

"I am the all knowing eye of Thar," echoed a deep voice.

"I thought I had lost you, but when you felt great pain, I felt it too," said
the voice.

"How did you find me?" said Ghrondel.

"It was not easy. A great force almost stopped me from carrying you here on
the winds of Thar, and I am not sure what it is," grumbled the voice.

"Thar, w-where am I?" said Ghrondel.

"Why, you are home, my son. Well, almost. You body is trapped in a plane far
away from here, but I was able to bring your spirit here," said the voice
reassuringly.

"My spirit! What do you mean my spirit?" exclaimed Ghrondel with a hesitant
curiousity.

"This force that stopped me from bringing you here completely was too great
so I separated your spirit from your body to ease your pain for a short
while," said the voice. "However, I can feel where this power is coming
from."

"You are being held captive by one possessing some of this power. It is a
being filled with the spirit of a demon. You must destroy these demons
trapping your body so that you may return and assume your rightful throne. In
time you will find a power of your own to free yourself, I know it. None
possess the courage or cunning of a Thar," said the voice assuredly.

Ghrondel looked down to his throne and pondered to himself. "These demons,
how will I know what they look like?" said Ghrondel.

"They will hold an aura. In the world where your body lay it is called
Magick," said the voice.

"Go now my son, and return when you have defeated them all!" With the final
word the curved blue slit on the forehead of the being opened to reveal a
piercing blue eye.
