Chapter 1

I was but a mere warrior of my Village.. All my life I've
spent despising the darkness of Thera, but never actively
taking action against it.. It was one day that would change
my life completely.

I walked the outskirts of my Village, for one reason or
another.. I found myself approaching a cloaked figure
standing in my path. I approached it as cautiously as
I could, as this is a very strange thing to see around
a Village like my own. As I approached, my vision of
its face did not become any clearer, nor did the figure
shift the slightest. I stood but a foot away, staring
into the dark void under its heavy cloak..

It all happened before I had time to react.. I found
myself on the ground, crippled with a shooting pain
in my skull. It was right at that very moment that everything
went dark...

Complete darkness.. Not the darkness you see when you
close your eyes, but the actual absence of light.. a
pinprick of light began to materialize in the distance,
cutting through the seemingly infinite darkness. Getting
bigger as I watched, or perhaps I was being sucked in
closer to the picture that slowly came into view, I
could not tell.. Soon the pinprick had become what I
could make out to be a battle scene..

The following is exactly what I saw as best I can possibly
describe from my point of view:

*...The obvious form of a darkly clad storm giant
comes into view. He is enveloped in a brilliant white
aura, standing ready with a large two-handed blade
gripped in his hands as several cloaked figures close
in on him.. The giant charges into battle without
hesitation of the larger opposing force.

A flurry of blows are exchanged.. The giant seems
to ignore all what would appear heavy blows dealt
to him and continues to fight, unphased. The giants
blows are incredibly devestating.. It wasnt long before
the opposition was put to rest.

As the giant stands panting over the bodies of his
deceased foes, his face becomes clearer.. A very
familiar blue face is seen, almost as if staring
in some kind demented mirror.. You immediately
notice a large patch covering the giants right eye...*

When I had awaken from this, my vision was still not all too
clear. Upon groping at my face in horror, I came
to find that my right eye had been completely stuck
through with some kind of sharp instrument...

Once I regathered my senses, I stumbled back to the Village
to recieve some medical aid. Nothing could be done..
The most they found that they could do for me was
place a patch over my eye..

Things began coming together.. This dream suddenly
was becoming my reality. It was a sign.. I must become
more.. I must persue my desires for the complete destruction
of darkness.. I acted immediately.

No one can stand in my way, I will overcome all.

...I left my Village without a word, guided by a dream and a strong will...
