Chapter 2

It took some time before the House pendant she wore was worked out of her
healing and burned flesh. The desert was an un-kind environment and she
suspected she was indeed going crazy. If listening to the howling siroccos
was insanity, she decided, she would embrace it and follow the winds.

And after time, she began to enjoy the cruel sense of humor this chittering
of spiders, this voice that sound at times like a writhing mass of maggots
had. After all, why shouldn't she just set a merchant on fire and take what
she wanted instead of using coins to pay for it? In time she was lead to
learn of Thar-Eris and sent the following scroll to the Outlanders:


They do not stray from the paved paths, the trusty
roads through the woods. The brambles, they claw at
their cloaks as adders hiss from the darkness. No,
it is safer, easier to send their caravans through the
desert, to rest in their castles carved out of mountains.

But what, what is this smell? Smoke, but not from a
the familiar baker's hearth or blacksmith's forge. No,
it is the smell of burning flesh and thatched rooftops
set alight by a destructive and anti-social force.

They will flee their masonic cages, into the foreign
lands where wolves and predators wait to rip their
flesh as their ancient instincts drive them to.

Maggots and other vermin will clean their bones and
then, and finally then, Thar-Eris may begin to rise again.



Now, to wait and see if these hallucinations had lead her in the right
direction...
