Chapter 12

My travels kept taking me between Loch Grynmear, the Coastal Wetlands,
and back to Azreth Woods as I focused my energies on conjuring better
and stronger beings to serve me. My favored earth elemental Norm no
longer cared to come when I called upon him, and none of the other
beings that took his place had quite the same personality, leading me
to take less of an interest in my servitors well-being.

It also began to become apparent to me that my monkey Liva was not the
perfect creature I had once imagined as well, but I tried not to let
Liva's shortcomings distract me too badly. I was ready to seek out
companionship with other living adventurers, and made fairly good
friends with both Ilden and Ajcruzhr as we wreaked havok in some out-
of-the-way places. They are both slightly more ambitious than myself,
however, and before I knew it they had surpassed me in strength and
moved on to other interests.

I was saddened that my only real friends had been so quick to desert
me, but I didn't let it bother me for long. I felt it was time to seek
out the Provost Magistrate to try to take my place as a magistrate, for
better or for worse, as I intended to divert such ambitions towards my
career.
