This is a work-in-progress, but we've been keeping an eye on very new players and issues they have with getting commands to work. We tend to forget how daunting a text MUD interface can be to the uninitiated, and at the very least, we're working to make the text parsing a little smarter.

As a small example, if you try to 'search' something, that's now a synonym for 'examine' and produces the same result. If you're low level and type 'maps', you get some text explaining how 'outfit' works.

We have a couple dozen of these kinds of common attempts implemented, and we'll be continuing to add them. If you have suggestions, please email them directly to me, preferably in batches.

In related news, new characters now default to having color turned on. Even telnet and friends tend to handle ANSI color just fine by default these days, and our sparing use of color isn't as overwhelming as it might be in other places.
