What was that with the epic battle I had with Vilka and you looking at me? He came so close to killing me and I think I almost had him dead at the same time but he eventually left when he ran out of blood to drink (I assume). I didn't see any comments in the PBF about it and was curious, was he trying for Chieftain with that?

I was just wondering what all the looks were for. I thought it was a great battle with Vilka where we went after each other like 6 or 7 times and then he finally left.

I had more sheer fun with this character than any I can recall in recent memory. It was the first bard I've done in more than 5 years (last was when Sylvan HQ was in the Jade mountains) and was easily the most survivable character I've done, Cabdru aside. But I've got to hit the road for about a month (for fun) and Outlanders are in good shape at the moment so it seemed a good time to let Bolen go.

Immortals: Thanks to all of you that I interacted with either in Limerick battles, the names, role contests, etc.. It really does make a player strive harder when we get this kind of interaction.

Innis: Thanks for the tattoo and the leadership, hope you weren't disappointed in your choice.

Dalteric: Thanks for teaching me how to fish (and Grurk for the honorable mention in the role contest). Even if Innis claims the catfishing title.

Lyristeon: I'm glad the drunken nymph forged a poem you liked, I never could bring myself just to do straight announcements. Heck, I'm supposed to be a bard!

Kastellyn: Thanks for the comments on the poems, they were all pretty much spur of the moment and I didn't save any of them. Like all writers, I was never completely happy with any of them, but hey, who ever is. I'm glad you liked the 'Wild Poem', aside from a couple of the limericks, it was my favorite.

Mortals: You folks also made this fun, either by being such good targets or inspiration for poems. I was never a big threat as a PK'er but hopefully I made a few of you laugh from time to time. There are enough of you that I won't make a longwinded (well, any more long winded than it already is) goodbye to you all, but in my mind, you are all above average.

Now, where did I put that wine and the nymph?.......

Great all around character, I loved the RP, the role and especially the writing. Towards the end I stopped adding comments to your history because they (the comments, not the writing!) started to get repetitive ("Another great poem by Bolen!"), and I was just going to highlight the ones that really sparked my interest.

Now I'm pissed that you didn't save "Wild Poem", because I didn't either. What kind of bard doesn't save their works?!?!? How else do you expect to get published??!!? Sheesh...

Glad you enjoyed the character, I know I sure did!

From : Bolen
To : all
Subject: The wild wind blows.

The wild gust of wind brings warmth to your soul.
It feels as if someone kind has just filled the hole
left in your heart.
By the woman who stole your last bottle of wine.
Then the wind comes again bringing a fresh scent
of new blossomed flowers and grass stalks bent
by the bounding hart.
And you know, despite the turmoil, all will be wild and fine.

Your poems are great. They have felicity of expression, rhythm, a lyrical efficiency to them. Light stuff, very enjoyable to read, and just rolls off your tongue smooth as butter.

Really tasty stuff. Keep writing, you'll have fans out there.

I can't think of a moment while I was watching you that I saw you break character once. You did the mirthful drunken goodie bard extremely well. Good luck with your next when you get back.

Let me agree with the praise you have garnered up to this point. A good follower, worthy of a tattoo, a drunken nymph-molester, a quality composer of the written word...but most of all, someone capable of maintining their rp and having fun. Damn nice!

Oh...if you don't have it...here it is:

< 11> Mon Apr 17 22:41:15 2006
From : Bolen Da'llarien
To : all
Subject: Wild Poem!

Big mountain storm, blowing down the mountain.
Churning up the waters, spewing like a fountain.
Hear the damned ones crying, fearing all the might,
Hear the wild ones cheering looking at the sight.
The Ancients have awoken, the powers stir again.
The creatures are a-stiring, with feather, fur and fin.
Soon the walls come tumbling like little colored stone,
and from beneath the rubble, the scattered cries and moans.
So if you wish to save your soul and your very life.
Throw off the yokes of bondage and join us in our strife.
We fight to free the souls of folks from slavery and laws.
So come and fight for freedom, with tooth and nail and claws.
Then listen to the music of crickets and of frogs,
And sit beside us rejoicing on some fallen logs.
We'll share the wine and fresh caught game and lift our voices loud,
That all can hear us wild ones howling long and proud.

Though I already see 2 or 3 words I'd change to make it flow better. I only worry that the poor nymphs will get lonely..you'll have to step up the molesting to keep them happy

I actually bothered to read them because they were entertaining, which is saying quite a lot relative to most bard poems I see. So whilst I never encountered you, you get my respect for doing what it seems to me a bard should do.
