What can I say.. I enjoyed every experience and outing we had, whether it turned out good or bad. The character was very enjoyable, and it's always exciting to see someone who constantly tries to display their creative talents, be it in writing stories, poems, or songs. Good luck in wherever you end up.

Hey Noldruk, I was wondering if you were still playing, if you liked some of the stories I told back then, you should have heard the stories I told about us looking for T'Nebhra. I made it a whole, whole lot more exciting than it really was. Although, I think we did hear a few bits of that story than everyone else. I had a lot of fun with Noldruk, you sure were strong.

I never did get juice at the inn, but I turned the quest for juice into a crusade, maybe now I'll be a martyr for juice.

I prefered Meladori when she was younger, and more lenient. It seemed to me, the older she got, the grotchier she got. I remember when you were younger, I could push you, and other Inn patrons around, and you'd merely fold your arms and pout. Then when you grew up, you became snappy. You'd boot me out for little things, quickly ban me, and even started attacking me! Bitch. But really, even though my characters hated you, I as a player really enjoyed Meladori. You were one of the few characters (If not the only one) who I knew would always be around, and I when thinking of what to play next, I'd think: What would my character do around Meladori? And branch of an interesting role from that. The other thing I liked about Meladori was she (and you) always paid attention to younger players. No matter what rank, she'd give them the attention they wanted, rather than snob them off like so many heros do today. If the players weren't all that great at RPing, you'd still interact with them, encourage them and even teach them to RP. Overall, great character, and I hope you roll another one soon.

You probably don't remember, but I played Rodain, Jursith (think that was his name, lame Felar AP), Mortug, Mirdulad and Vansia.

Yeah, not many people saw the grouchy side of Meladori, but some people can push you just right, you know? I did start booting for smaller things as I grew older, Heralds don't have the power to ban people, but we can suggest it, and I really don't remember attacking any of those characters, then again, some of those characters were a while ago. How'd I do? You probably beat me up, never was too good at that sort of thing.

I remember that Mirdulad really got under her skin, I thought he was a well made evil bard. And Rodain.. was that the Felar thief that used to threaten Meladori even before she was a Herald?

Yes, you attacked Mirdulad a couple of times. Eg: You'd boot me, someone from the Inn would come charging out to kill me, and then you'd run out and join them.

Rodain was the Felar Assassin who did threaten you when you were just a widdle Bard. I suppose not being a Herald is why I figured you were more lenient.

About the 'Um, Thanks?' I was trying to be nice and say how wonderful Meladori was, but it was late and I was kind of grouchy myself so it might've not come out that way. The 'Bitch' comment however came directly for many of my character's hearts, just showing what an impact you made on them.

Rodain had some impact on Meladori as well. Though she thought she had failed to do so, Rodain was instrumental in Meladori's belief that everyone could change. As for attacking Mirdulad, I must have believed I was protecting people from you... or maybe I had a brief fall into insanity, I would certainly never bait you up like that consciously.

Did you ever play a good character? Though.. it's always nice to have a great enemy too. Meladori was most afraid of Scarabaeus, just the way he talked to her, she thought he had something awful in store, second was probably a tie between the Rime Djinn and T'Nebhra, third? As much as I can remember, it was Rodain. Even though he couldn't attack her, she feared the day he would be able to.

I'm really glad Meladori had an impact on some of your characters, likewise, they had an impact on her.

Vansia: Female Human Shaman, Good, Follower of Shokai, exact opposite of Mirdulad.

Only reason I played her is to see if I could pull off a goodie, I think I did, but I prefer Evils, they're much more fun.

I noticed this as well. I remember one time I went in there with my first lowbie after Quid and she looked and talked to me at lvl 1! It was kinda wierd because most chars above lvl 30 will not even look at you if your in a room, and if they do it's just a nod. Mel would actually speak to you and make the best of whatever time you spent in the inn. I thought that was pretty cool. Kinda why I (tried to at least) talked to lowbies a bit more if I could with Kertaki, especially in the inn and in the guilds. (also some people don't realize it but lowbie pre-pk chars can quite easily rat out your location to someone in your range just as fast as someone in range...)

There was just something about Meladori that seemed like she fit into the mould of a Herald much easier than would seem. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that she'd been a high-ranking Trouper way back in the day, you can recognize people's little habits. But with Heralds, they seem to be focused on RP, which in this game, is something that always drew me to the Inn, even if just to be around them if not spoken to by them. I would love to see her as a fixture in the Inn.

As odd as it sounds, being confrontational with a weak character allows for more interaction, otherwise there'd be no point to boasting, you'd simply just cut down anyone. Lots of respect, and hoping that you make another Herald on the ASAP.

See you later.

Thank you! I would love it if some rememberance of Meladori was left in the Inn. It sure would have been cool to have a mob made after Meladori, but since I died of age instead of deletion, that would be kind of wierd.

Gaenia sort of reminded me of a rock star mentality in a Carrion Fields setting. That said, maybe I'm wrong since I don't know much about current music, I was always into jazz. But I thought it was very interesting. Meladori was kind of cautious about Gaenia, because she thought while there was great talent in her, it wouldn't take much to set her off and leave the Heralds. Which happened once or twice.

As for my next character, I'm not quite sure yet. I do love the Heralds, but I'd be afraid of making a Meladori clone. You can rest assured I'll be making another character soon enough though.

Anyway, have fun with that character, she seems like a fun one to have.

The only songs Meladori claimed to write, she did. She also sang Blue, both slightly modified to fit Carrion Fields more. Whenever someone would ask if I wrote those songs, I would say no. Of course, I couldn't say that Yoko Kanno wrote them, but I did not take credit. This is something most singers do, and sometimes they dedicate those songs to others. Meladori only claimed to write the songs she submitted for the Bard lyric contest, and I did, while might I add, watching the Nightmare Before Christmas. There's perfectly good answers for everything, and you should kick back and ask for them instead of jumping to conclusions. Perhaps you should be a little more subtle and a little less rude.

By the way, she once sung a Sinatra song too, I had to edit that one quite a bit. I vaguely remember saying it was a song from a Human bard with dazzling blue eyes who lived long ago.

Granted, I have a special dislike for cover bands, but the only conclusion I jumped to was mostly correct. I like the song and the composer too and wanted to make sure that she was at least mentioned. As for rudeness, this message board is a post mortem, like St. Peter at the Gates. Rudeness does not apply. From what I saw of your char she did very well, and the fact that you were leader of the big RP cabal says much more than 'singing' one uncredited song. See you in the fields.

I sang more than one uncredited song, but for role playing purposes I couldn't credit the actual singers. I, however, did not take credit for the songs. And as for your conclusion, every musician covers a song some time in their life, yes, including Yoko Kanno. So if your conclusion is that Meladori was a musician, you are correct.

On a side note, I'd have to say that the Seatbelts are probably my favorite band.

Just kidding, but I did think you would immort in the end. Meladori was one of those incredible characters that you just couldn't help but like. I wish I had gotten a chance to speak with you a little more about just regular things, but it doesn't seem like a lot of regular things had a chance to work their way into our brief talks. Llauriele looked up to you, and was grateful to you for always being a comfort when one was needed. Thank you for leaving a bit of advice behind for me when you went, since I wasn't able to be there to see you in person. And thank you again for just taking the time to put something into this character and make the game more fun for all of us. I think if we all aspired to make characters as great as yours was, the game would be a whole lot better in so many ways.

Thank you so much. Meladori did like Llauriele a lot, but I really can't talk about the relationship between the two, not now anyway. So I'll that Llauriele's rp was great and I like it when I meet someone like you who is very different from the standard. Llauriele was kind of shy, very modest and very friendly. I hope you have tons of fun with her. Take care.

I just have to say i agree fully, I was actually about to write my own note to say this. If there were 10 Meladoris at once in CF it would be a unrivalled place.

I really did enjoy interacting with you. Towards the end there it seemed we were never around at the same time, or something was going on where we couldn't speak..but you were definetly leading the cabal in a good direction. Your events were always well done, and you told good stories. You deserved to be the High Herald. Anyway, great job and enjoy the next!

We really did go through a dry stretch with the Heralds, and even though Arvam would have eventually showed up and fixed everything, I had fun trying to revive the Heralds. If you weren't there with me, I would have been much more afraid of trying. Just having Darch there to lean back on made me feel comfortable. I know I left the Heralds in good hands, as I said before, I didn't feel comfortable about being the High Herald until you were made one beside me. Then I think I knew everything would be okay. Make sure to keep everyone in line, okay? Take care, and give that slime elemental some slime mold juice.

I have known you with every single char I ever played. hehe thats insane!

I still remember when I was Quiditus trying to rank with you when you were in your 20ish lvls and I was about as noobish as you could get and trying to stop a bunch of assassins/thieves from killing you simply because you were an elf

I was quite impressed how you seemed to get so much immteraction. I don't think I could ever roll a char that would roleplay to that extent. And to mimic what Daurwyn said below, you did become just "part of the inn" we expected to see. and could never imagine attacking you (not that I ever really had a reason

fun times, lots of memories. hope you had fun..oh and for your next char make it a PK beast

Of course I remember you. Especially Nurwon and Kertaki. When I was about nine hundred with Meladori, I remember thinking, maybe I've been around too long, but when I hit one thousand, I threw that party and forgot all about it. You had four characters during Meladori? That's crazy! I'm glad people saw me as part of the Inn. And I was very pleased I got so much immteraction, it was a lot of fun. I even got a spell with a Bard. As for making my next character a pk'er, I would if I could, but it was always difficult for me. The only time I had a chance is when we'd duel in the Inn and they'd give me first hit. Then I'd sing them to sleep and sing them up good *giggle*

You were a damn fine Herald, through and through. The really cool part about you is that you never seemed to lose steam or get bored just doing Heraldly stuff. You liked throwing your parties, and always kept pushing to do new things. That was the best part, it seemed like you, and the character just really liked what they did, which was neat to see. Hope you had fun like you looked like you did.

One moment sticks out in my mind however when I really laughed my ass off. We were plotting to send you a random spooky dream, but we needed you to go to sleep, and since you really had no reason to, we had to nudge you with some echoes. We got gradually more blunt, and then you seemed to get the idea...but instead of going to sleep...you quit. (Which for Meladori in character, was going to sleep) Man, I laughed so hard at that.

Anyways, good job, and have fun with whats next.

I thought that I was dying of old age then and there, and though I didn't like putting it off, I had to perform Ocelevan's wedding the next day. So, hesitated a bit, then quit. Well, when I *woke* up the next day, just in time for Ocelevan's wedding, and when I noticed I wasn't getting those echoes, I was a little more than embarrassed.

I did have a lot of fun with this character. I thought of myself at first as almost sort of a barmaid, I gave out drinks, and I danced. I also sang, though a lot more when I was younger. Then, as Meladori got a little more famous I think I started to act more like a Herald. I always liked your presence, people respected you, but they weren't afraid of you. Very fitting for Arvam. Thanks for everything, I had tons of fun.

I've known Meladori through a number of characters.

Meladori always came across to me as a non-combatant. Even with my most arse-holy characters, I'd not really think about attacking you, simply because you became part of the scenery. In the same way, I'd not think about attacking the wall of the inn. Meladori was just "part of Thera" -- an incontravertable fact.

As Lokrin, I remember looting your stuff when Harokatus killed you, and you refusing to take it back, telling me to keep it. I found that quite difficult to deal with, simply because it is so (SO) rare in cf to find someone to whom decent gear means less than rp.

I hope you loved this character.

If you failed to imm, yet wanted to, all I can say is better luck next time, because you prove to be a sociable character without being a corny one. Characters like yours are to be treasured, imho (even if you are pk fodder ).

Meladori was very non-combatant, though funny enough, she was kind of confrontational. She was pretty weak and knew it too, but she would never admit it. As I said to Sylvrin, having a bow for a weapon really signified that for me. Also, every once and a while I'd take the sphere of Darsylon. Just cause with exotic weapons, hardly anyone uses them. People would say, "Look how great I am with a sword! I'm the greatest swordsman in Thera!" and Meladori would respond, "Well I just happen to be the greatest archer in Thera!" ... though I don't think that actual conversation ever happened *chuckle*

I loved this character dearly and never thought about deleting her once. I often wondered how many generations of characters went by while I was Meladori. I had her a long, long enjoyable time.

In response to Reply #0

Yes, I say that because it's like Meladori's a part of the Inn itself.. The Inn needs more people like her, and I quite admired your ability to roleplay her part as a Herald.

But it is SO strange, because (OOC) I was thinking, Meladori is going to turn immortal, or something, simply because there is no one else quite like her in the Carrion Fields. You could say she was unique. Her departure from the world is truly a lamentable day for the Heralds.

I was pretty slow on the uptake really. After another informed me that there is a new drink named after her (thank goodness not all trace of Meladori was wiped out, at least), I just didn't put two and two together. Oh well.

I didn't see her all that much, since Benvale is relatively young and when I first joined the Inn, she was like.. a 1000-year old elf, if memory serves. Oh well, I suppose it was fun having Meladori around and all that, and I'd just say the usual cliche, with all honesty, Good luck on your next character. Let's hope that your next character in Carrion Fields will be as unique and interesting as Meladori was...

Hmm, I wonder if there might be a Meladori mob in the Inn in the future... At least then she'd "live forever" in the Carrion Fields.

And the valedictory note is always the most concise, and carries the greatest weight of meaning.

Good-bye.

I really did want to turn immortal, or have a mob of myself left somewhere, but I really didn't know what to do. Maybe nothing at all, it was just appropriate that she died. Anyway, she died very content with her life.

I'll miss all you guys a whole lot. I tried to think that I wouldn't get this sentimental when Meladori passed, but who was I kidding? The Inn is doing fine, make sure it stays that way huh? I know I've nothing to worry about.

In response to Reply #0

Okay, let's do some more goodbyes, though not all of them.

Aneriasha: I knew early on that you wouldn't be evil forever, and I was delighted when you joined the Heralds. Meladori tried not to discriminate against Drow, but she was never closer to one than she was to you. In fact, I'd go as far as to say she saw you like a sister.

Altasha: Kitty! Mrrreorrw! I never knew you were such a hellion. *giggle* I heard some things about Altasha and it shed a whole new light on the character. I really liked that char and I hope you make many, many more.

Shiluzar: We had some fun, but never got to dance together. I always sort of sat back, waiting for something from the top to give opportunities. If I could go back, I would have thrown more parties when I was younger and we could have danced. I was sad that I wasn't around for your last years of Shiluzar.

Nobuo: I hope you keep singing, I liked the one song you sang, but I never heard you sing more. It was rather nice.

Erenthell: I think you were a big inspiration for Elven warriors, proud, noble, and strong. Keep those swords twirling, and give those baddies what for.

Eluna: I just started to get to know you before you died. You lived a really long time for an Arial, I remember when you got to my pk, and I didn't know what to think of you, because of that title. When Meladori did know you, she really liked you a lot.

Karun: Man, I wish we didn't lose touch. Meladori always had fun with loud Dwarves, you made me giggle at my computer more than once.

Nikuyah: I was sad when I came back and you weren't around anymore. For some reason, Meladori got along with Dwarves really well.

Aldarri: I was sad to see you go, but I understand that sometimes life calls. Take care, and when you can, make another char.

Gasg Gaggle?: I hope I spelled that right. You were one of those characters that I wanted to get closer to, but just couldn't find the right time. Meladori thought you were funny.

Zekasiq: I thought that maybe you were going to try to join the Heralds. You were really nice as a young Drow, but Meladori started to wonder about you when you got involved with the Empire. She never did trust them completely. When they got situated, she liked them much less.

Kalmah: I was sad to see you leave, but not surprised. Kalmah had a lot of pride, and fighting and the Inn don't go hand in hand. I always wondered, what do you think of how the Empire turned out? Was this what Kalmah secretly had in mind? Or did he really believe what he was preaching?

Thornarcrull: Your mind games and hidden agenda were legendary. A great Drow through and through. Meladori suspected you of being behind a few of her least likable moments in life.

Gaplemo: Oh! You made me so mad sometimes. Hexing me with ... oh whatever that spell was, "akldk asdfn ielnsi!" Then you started sending the hunt in after us. I was really happy when we could get some peace by giving you steaks.

.... Okay, give me some more names. I'm sorry, it's not that I forgot, it's just that my head is about to explode, digging too deep in the past.

Can't believe ya forgot to mention me. Bah. I still remember the day we met. It was you, Kalmah and I at the Inn and I instantly fell in love(brotherly) with you. You always could make a mean glass of champagne. It really bothers me that I got banned from the Inn for protecting the life of another while there were no heralds about. It really put a hamper on our friendship seeing as I could no longer enter and hang out with ya. I can't believe you are gone, it saddens my heart to know that my favorite elfie bard is gone for good. Good Luck with your next char, perhaps we will meet again.

Oh, I didn't forget to mention you, it's just that I've been digging so deep for names that I'm going crazy. Meladori was really sad when you got banished, quite a few of her friends were, that's why she started making those cake runs to the Fortress, just to see some of you lunk heads.

I liked the Vashka character a lot. Many shamans that Meladori knew seemed to be really, really zealous, and while that comes with the class, it was nice to see one toned down a little.

Although it wasn't the first time our characters met, the bard's song lyric contest is when they got to know each other. I joined the Heralds at level 21 I think, so wow, we knew each other for a long, long time. Elrys was Meladori's oldest friend at the end. And the only character even born within Meladori's childhood. After Airael pasted, I felt really old, now you're the granny *giggle*

It is really a shame that we lost touch, and no, I don't think it's your fault. It was a lot of things, including the Fortress being plunged into so many wars. I liked Elrys a lot because she didn't limit herself to being a conjurer. I remember a lot of people wouldn't enter the contest because they weren't a bard, and while I have nothing against those people, it was nice to compete with someone with a different state of mind.

All that I know is that she was really, really old. I do know that I must have played about fifty to seventy five hours before I put in a role entry, and that was when the put in the last name system. That's about as close as I can track her past though.

You were always fun to be around. Zek was hoping for a multi-alignment Empire, and in fact, stayed true to what he(she) had always said. "If Empire isn't multi-align, I won't be involved in it." So, if Zek had been around when they actually started (it came back like 2 days after I was gone) he/she wouldn't have joined it. I was still evil, though coulda been moreso, in the ways of greed, strategically positioning myself for power, and whatnot.

In fact, my con was REALLY low and I wanted to try to spare myself a few more days... I sweet talked Vashka and he called off the entire Fortress on me, which basically meant I had free roaming ability, save the random uncabaled person that wanted me dead. Didn't have many enemies, and I considered you a friend.

You were the one that pointed me in Arvam's direction in the first place, after 20 hours or so of my life. If it wasn't for you, I definitely wouldn't have enjoyed the character for another 400+ hours.

I was really proud of myself for that, although I'm sure you would have found him without my guidance. I always liked making Drow friends, because while I think racial tention and even hatred is essential in Carrion Fields, Meladori was innocent enough to believe that the two opposite ends of Elves could get along under the right circumstances, I guess she wasn't that far off, huh?

Well that being said means so little as to what you really meant to my character. You were like his big sister more than anything for as much as Erebili loved you, in fact I think he would have fell in love with you if Mossi wasnt around. ( *wink* sorry but sometimes you gotta love a gnome) I was hoping that I would have been able to talk to you earlier more like three days ago but my damn computer caught that whole blaster worm virus and really f***ed some ####e up on my computer. I cannot thank you enough for letting me become a Herald I really wanted to get into the whole RPing of the game and figured a Herald was my best best. I was extremely intimidated to have you interviewing me because I remember you from my other lowbie-nobody characters and figured that you would be one tough cookie to try and RP with but you always made Erebili confortable and me(RL) smile whenever you were on. I must say that you had one heck of a character that not many will be able to beat you were and are still known better for being the Inn than Olin. Erebili will always hold a special place in his heart for you. Good luck on you next!!!

Sweet dreams my fair lady,

At first, I asked people to choose a number between one and four to determine the number of reasons I would ask for blah blah, but when I started making people choose between the moon and sun on the coin, it started to turn into a game for me, and I liked that a whole lot more, it was nice to see if people would play and talk with me even if they were being interviewed. I liked Erebili because though clearly nervous, he wasn't afraid to talk with me.

Thank you for naming a wine after me, and tell Arvam that people want juice *giggle* I'm not sure how many times I annoyed him by saying that.

I have known Meladori with three characters now, but Sylvrin was the one that spent the most time with her. At one point, when Sylvrin was still quite young, I was very much considering having her join Heralds, but since I was so new to the game, I wasn't sure quite how to go about it. Then Syl got caught up in the Empire and later in the Fortress, which truly was where her heart finally settled. Still she always felt a closeness to the people who were so kind to her whenever she went to the Inn. Sylvrin saw Meladori as kindred not only in the fact that she was an elf but also as a kindred spirit, one who loved to dance, sing, and who had a good and loving heart. It always brought a smile to Sylvrin's face, even after a day of mutiple deaths, to hear the tinkling of Meladori's feet as she entered the room.

Meladori was the kind of character that keeps me coming back to the game over and over, no matter how difficult it gets sometimes.

I hope your next chracter is as much fun for you as well as for the rest of us who have enjoyed our interactions with you.

Meladori didn't like wars at all, but she loved the Fortress. I used to buy bunches of cake and mix lots of tea and wine and run down there to offer it to anyone. It was my way of seeing what was going on down there.

Meladori looked up to Sylvrin, because, well Sylvrin could take care of herself. Like a renaissance woman, you were versed in art, war, and politics. You had a way with words and you knew how to use them. Meladori's bow signified the envy she had of fighters, here was a girl who wasn't really good with any sort of weapon, so she picked up a weapon no ones so she could be better than anyone else. It wasn't good in battle, but I couldn't see Meladori really fighting with anything else.

Boy do i miss you, I had some of my best days in the Herlads with you and also some really really nice rp stints. I really liked Meladori a lot and let the affect me when I played other evil heros after Altasha (so I never actually came killing you)
Very very good job, I think you were one of the best elf female bards I've interacted with. ROCK ON !

Goodness, I remember walking to the stage of fools one day and everyone was sitting there blinking at a Fela who was making cat noises. Well, I had a hunch so I ran to check if we had any books on Felar in the Lyceum. That was the beginning of a great friendship. I guess maybe I shouldn't have been so proud of my age death, a lot of people are saying they didn't come after me *giggle* But I got away from quite a few people, I could run like the wind!

Hopefully other characters of ours will meet in the future, not sure what I want to go for, figure I shouldn't try the same thing. Take care, and thank you for all the fun times.

Wow... well that was fun. I'm sure a lot of people saw Meladori on with several characters. I'm not sure how many generations of people I saw come and go. Goodness, that was fun. Meladori was the first character that I got to level 51, she was also the first character who ever got into any politics, immortal interaction, anything like that. I tried to make her.. oh.. I don't know, innocent without a lack of knowledge. When she was young, I tried to make her carefree, when she got older, I tried to make her more of an easy going type person. Though, she didn't always react to rudeness well. I think I'll have to take a few secrets to the grave with me, but here goes the goodbyes. And if I don't mention you, I'm really, really sorry, just post a reply and I'll respond. There's going to be lots I think.

Immortals:

Arvam: Meladori was always fond of you. And I tried to hint a few times that she was jealous of your wings. Though, more often than not, when she was not in your presence. I left quite a few statues in the garden when I became High Herald of winged Arials and once, a winged Elven lady. Thanks for all the fun times, certainly, Meladori will be a hard character for me to follow. But I promise whoever I make next, I'll still have fun.

Bria: I really hope you come back. I remember when you first appeared to me and asked me to plan the Elven party I thought, "Well, I guess this will be my first *real* character." I always loved your presence and was glued to the screen whenever you were around.

Scarabaeus: Nothing ever scared Meladori as much as you. Eventually, as you came around more, she put on a false sense of security, but she was still terrified everytime you showed up. Not so much for bodily harm, but for her soul. I gathered an army to go to hell because Meladori always rushed to investigate stories and such, but in the end, I thought it best that she chicken out of that trip, there's just too much evil in Hell. *giggle*

Vynmylak: I was rather grateful and proud when you asked me to write a song about your fallen Maran. Everytime Meladori saw you, she felt safe.

Noldruk: Meladori had a lot of friends, she talked about you the most. I felt that your strength was legendary and found it quite fitting to tell stories of you. I had a lot of fun running around Thera looking for T'Nebhra. After you passed, I started calling myself a demon hunter, amongst other goofy self appointed titles. I enjoyed hunting with you, talking with you, and playing around you at parties, Noldruk wasn't one to goof around. Meladori smiled when Noldruk ascended, and cried when he was killed.

Immortal interaction:

The Rime Djinn: Now that was a battle. I gained the inspiration spell from fighting these nasty things and that helped with rp a lot. I always enjoyed telling people how magic woke in her veins. I died six times that night, yeouch!

N'Schael: You sure were fun. We got seperated by one of my computer failures. I always felt bad when I couldn't connect because of losing touch with people. I wasn't sure what your intentions with Meladori were, but Meladori herself made a few assumptions. Since the mask is still around, I won't say anything more but that I had a lot of fun with that whole thing. I'm sure you can get one more bowl of fruit on the house.

T'Nebhra: That whole thing was pretty scary. Everytime something kind of strange started up, Meladori started worrying that you returned.

The Coven: Oh! I wish I could have stayed around for that story a little longer, oh well. I won't say anything about the happenings a'transpirin' but I enjoyed speaking about magic with you guys and gal. Very mysterious, all of you.

The immortal who tried to get me to go to sleep to dream: *giggle* I'm really sorry I quit instead of going to sleep, actually I did sleep for a few seconds. I thought that I was dying of old age, and I had a wedding to perfom the next day. I was just trying to hold on till I could perform it.

Mortals: You'll have to forgive me on a few of these

Sisters in spirit:
Jezebelle: Meladori's first friend, she respected you a whole lot, loved you like an older sister, and began to think of you a lot in her later years. Your impact on Meladori never faded. You guided and inspired Meladori more than anyone.

Airael: Meladori often looked to Airael for guidance. She was saddened to see Airael become lost in her Nwayreth's death, but still loved you dearly. After you left, Meladori did her best to revive the Heralds in your and Jezebelle's honor.

Mossi: You'd be surprised to know how close our relationship was to Jezebelle and my relationship. I didn't try to make it that way, but I thought it was rather neat. I know that you'll do great in the Heralds, and Meladori always thought that you would replace her.

Love interests:
Dimion: Meladori's only husband. For what, five or six game hours? I thought the parting of the two Elves was very sad. After Dimion's passing, she always spoke of him fondly.

Kialanon: Though she loved him, Meladori always felt pressured and rushed with that relationship. I think this was most proved when Kialanon left and the two split up. Still, she had a lot of fun playing with you in the garden.

Kinjintareth? Kenjin..Kajo... well, the Elf who cancelled as Meladori's date to the Elven party *giggle* You were a lot of fun, but eventually faded. It's too bad, she liked you quite a bit.

Friends:
Siandors: You sure were strong if I remember correctly. I always felt safe when you were around, and you did save me more than once. Meladori told a few stories about you, maybe I should have written stories about my friends for the Lyceum.

Cersai: Like so many of the Fortress before, Meladori's friendship with you was cherished for many reasons. When you turned up with that curse, Meladori began to worry quite a bit, knowing that her time on Thera was short, I read many, many books to find some sort of insight to what was happening, but to no avail. I hope everything comes out okay for you.

Darch: I didn't feel right until you were made High Herald with me. We weren't the only two Heralds to make it through that stretch without a High Herald, but we were the most dedicated I think. You reminded me alot of Airael in her later years, I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

Ocelevan: Well, that was strange, didn't even mean to become your friend. Just sort of happened, it felt really natural to me though. Kind of funny, Meladori was a very well connected Elf, and even though you were well connected yourself, we never really used each other for such things. I was glad that we became friend eventually.

Javaco: Now, you behave little kitty. You were really patient about becoming a Herald and I think you did fine, after just a bit of guidance. Keep up the good work and keep that catnip out of my food! *giggle*

Lynnette: I wish we got to know each other better, we even spoke about doing so a few times. Meladori was always a little bitter that you were made High Herald, but I thought it was a good choice. I returned from a period without playing for a week or two, because of computer failures and you were a High Herald with Airael. And though Meladori was bitter, she wasn't bitter with you, just with fate. I heard you had a sad ending, and that's too bad, you did a great job.

Oh.. If you'll forgive me, I'm getting a little hungry, I know there's a lot more people, and I really wish to bid you farewell, if a few of you could leave your name, it would really help. Meladori knew a whooole lot of people. Give me a post and I'll give a reply. *smile* It was a lot of fun.

Noooo!

You weren't supposed to go and die like that.

Mossi really thought you'd just go on living forever, because you were there as long as she had known. In fact, you were there when I made my first semi-successful character, so I really thought you'd just kinda... always be there. Illusion, I guess.

I'm gonna miss you. I'm disappointed that you couldn't live out one more week. Mossi's wedding is scheduled for Wednesday the 20th at 7 PM PST. I guess Lothlorianae or Nobuo will have to do it now. *sniffles*

You were really just like Mossi said, an older sister type figure. Which was important to her, because she didn't have any siblings. I'm sorry that I couldn't be around to say goodbye when you did go.

I guess I'll see some of your other characters around, though.

Rest in peace, enjoy those grapes, and all that.

I really, really liked Mossi. I think you'll do great things in Carrion Fields. I started to think that I would be around forever too. I had this character for more than a year.. gosh. I'm really sorry I couldn't do your wedding, but Meladori talked alot about you when she was dying, and I made sure people knew.. well, let's leave that in the game. I hope they get those messages to you.

You can bet that this is not my last character,
Meladori

I really liked Meladori alot, too. It's going to be so strange without her around. A lot quieter; who will sing and dance? It is too bad about the wedding, but I guess Lothlorianae or Nobuo can do it.

It's too bad I couldn't be there when she died. I wanted to be, because Mossi wanted to say goodbye. But it just didn't work out that way.

Anyway...

I look forward to meeting your other characters.

Oh my oh my... so you went around the corner to join the old elves finally, hmm?
I remember seeing you dance around on the bachelor auction so long ago and since then it felt like there had always been a Meladori in the Inn. Well done I say, I thought you'd get High Herald earlier than you did but smiled to myself when you finally did.

Well done and I hope you'll be back in one form or another, I know I have been (No, there's no use in saying 'I quit' since you deep inside know that you will roll a new one regardless)

Toodles, Lardovian

I felt that way too, about always being around. Meladori was kind of like a girl who grew up, but didn't want to. Finally, one day I looked around and everyone from my past was gone. Then Meladori finally started to admit that she was old.

Great character, I was sad to hear you were gone. We didn't get to interact too much, but I think we were together for a couple of significant events. I remember consoling you when Dimion passed, and thought it was fitting that you were going to perform my own wedding. Ah well, I always thought you had great RP and made everyone around you want to RP better as well. Just wanted to say well done and congrats on your first hero. *giggle* I always did like cracking jokes about Gnomes and Dwarves. And yes, there are a few people that go back with Meladori, but I was talking about way back, when Meladori was young, like, before she was six hundred. I remember when Dimion was killed, Meladori openly showed fear and anger that night, not something she showed often. It's just too bad I passed before I could perform your wedding. You'd better take good care of Mossi or you'll be haunted by a dancing ghost for the rest of your life!

I was happy when I saw you that morning. I thought Darch and I were the last Heralds left. Take care, and think about not having those blades up constantly, they're so.. isolating.

Yeah, the blades make Mossi very put out with me and we can't have that. On the other hand I hate being stolen from (though I'm not sure why since I don't use half the crap I carry around). I don't think we interacted when you were younger but I think I remember silently enjoying your presence. I came up with Jezebelle (though not nearly as fast) when Arvam was frozen in ice and Iunna was still High Herald so if that was your time as well then we probably at least crossed paths. On a personal note, our meeting that morning meant quite a bit to Folorad. I hadn't seen a herald in a long, long time and was starting to get bored just teleporting around by myself. Also I figured it would be just a matter of time before I was uninducted for not being around. So thanks again for the interactions and I wish our playing times had coincided a bit more.

You'll be sorely missed by nobuo who will always continue to run around either pursuing his normal scholarly activities or entertaining or just keeping patrons at the inn served. youve touched upon the hearts of many and were a fine friend.

again im sure there will most likely be more when my head clears up a bit although i dont thinka few tawdry sentences do it

Happy birthday!
I'm so glad that this character seems to have some significance with others. I really wanted Meladori to help Elves and the rest of Thera get along a little better. Of course, some people accused me of being racist, at least, their characters did. But I tried really hard to get along with everyone, except maybe Liches, though I never got the chance to talk with one.

Nobuo was really nice to talk to. Very mellow, very friendly. I thought that we would be able to share some song ideas, but I never got around to setting up a concert. Mostly due to Meladori's mysteries. She was as curious as a cat.

Yeah curiosity, oh brother has that ever gotten me in enough strange conversations *laughs* not going there though at least not yet. Yeah i had those songs too, but always ended up coming on at pretty conflicting times! :x either you were always tired out or i was hehe
i still want a concert actually a gala show truth be told, a symphony, a poetry expositorium and the like, we will see how that goes i guess. see you again i hope (given that i have a place to live or internet connection next month)
tis a pity i never got to talk about more ideas for the inn or for talents and the like with you, but i still have a song waiting in honor of course

I had a good, long run with Meladori, and I had so much fun. I always felt a little strange when someone would ask me for advice or how to get somewhere, because I didn't know the game too well. But I lived so long, that by the end, I knew the game a whole lot more.

In response to Reply #4

After a good deal of time, an improvised variation on funeral rites was done by me for Meladori, in the Inn. A combination of personal, Herald, and Arial views into a personal farewell.

As it would appear in my personal journal, then the emotes of what happened, including the unrelated but fitting fire echos.

As I was in the Monastery of Moudrilar today, debating with the monks, I noticed the nearby presence of someone I knew, sitting alone somewhere I didn't know could be reached. I went to see her, and through her tears discovered the death of an old friend, the oldest living mortal I personally knew, Meladori. After my tears broke, we talked a few moments, and she suggested we retire to the Inn. So, Mossi led my feathery mess of a self there. We talked about Meladori between ourselves and others who were there. While I was curled up on the couch with a wing covering my face to hide the wet feathers, I had an idea.

I arose and made my way to the fireplace, where I tore out one of my wing feathers, and carefully lit it on the flames. Though it may have been a signal of other Herald dealings, the flames flickered and shortly turned green, the feather color of some of my ancestors. I held the burning feather between my fingers until it began to singe them, then released it to the fire, where it floated up into the heavens.

It was then that I whispered my farewell to her soul, hoping she would see the message I was sending that one day, some way, I intend to see her again. Shortly, I dried my tears, knowing her soul was at peace, and that my time of mourning was nearly done. I will never forget her, an excellent friend, a fellow Herald, and a wonderful woman with a heart the size of a dragon's egg.

Akanten yanks out a wing feather.
Akanten ignites the feather in the flames.
The flames of the tale-telling fire flicker and fade briefly, as if caught by a gust of wind.
The flames of the tale-telling fire leap and flare, turning a warm emerald green.
Akanten waits to release it until his fingers get singed.
Akanten watches the flame drift up the chimmeny.
You whisper 'Goodbye, may our souls meet again.'
Akanten wipes his eyes dry.
You say 'I'm better now.'

It's bringing me near tears to know these things. I kind of wished I would be invited into Asgaard, but... well, I guess it's better that I wasn't. I know the game pretty well, but no nothing of it's mechanics. I thought I really had a shot too. If I did make it, then I wouldn't have had to go, but also, then I'd have to see all of you go, and I've seen more friends pass on then I would have ever liked.

umm ouch, i would have loved to have been there for ya at the end. had i had any clue. my current char would have even had a reason or two to be comforting since the char is a freind of several of your friends though we never met. man that was hard to manage too.
glad you remembered me. hehe kialanon and kjin(i'd be able to spell the name except the hdd with ALL of my logs of dimion is trashed. trying various data recovery stuff as alot of business junk is on there with it. but oh well i'll dig it up one day.

now couple of things. did you ever sing of dimion? that's really all he wanted. hehe and of course if not for kialanon telling dimion of his feelings for you dim would have been more open way WAY earlier.
but of course i backed off for my buddy there.

was thinking i would end up meeting you soon with the new char as many friends in common.. but alas it didn't work out.
you were one of the most 'fun' characters to interact with.
awesome character. truly.

age death though.. hehe after all the scion stuff while dimion was alive i figured you for con death.. hehe so really nice job there.
like jez, and lardo. another 'era' character gone.
*sniffle* thera is the less for your passing.
umm.. now roll up someone else. okay maybe after the wierd feeling sets it about a long term char dying, when that goes away...
best of luck. i don't know about the rest but you had great impact on all the characters that dimion hung around with.

I sure did sing about Dimion. In fact, the lines "Don't cry, let's say goodbye, adieu," and "I stand alone and watch you fade away, like clouds," Were part of one of Meladori's final songs, performed at a talent contest she head. The song was about parting with Dimion the day of their wedding. I did a very different dance for that song, much much different than the rest. I was sad too that we never got to do that dance at the Elven party.

As for the age death, I know, I'm so proud of myself. I figured that the only way I would survive in Thera is if I knew a bunch of escape routes. That's why I started calling myself the fastest Elf in Thera, because Meladori could run away like no one's business.

I'll see you with some other char again, I'm sure.
Meladori

heh thanks i really appreciate it..that dumb elf of mine still means alot to me. and some of the stuff sticks.
like my oath to grogim i didn't break until i think it was 3 characters later. heh.
(part of why i had to avoid ya there as i would have slipped into a 'dimion' rping thing.. would have been REALLY odd from some of the chars i tried to play since then)

minor favor then.. got a log of it anyone?

i have gotten pretty good at running when need be as well.
(alot better then i was as dimion anyway)

doing something all new and alien to my nature now. working out okay as well imho.

if not for getting past lardo's death, i'd have the same feelings as mossi there. really messes ya up when you just unconciosly assume a char will be there 'forever'.
but something i'll always regret is not being able to do the dance thing at the elvish party.
happy to stand in for kjintareth?sp?
but honestly was a little down in the mouth about not being your first choice as a date hehe.

this char has had too much effect on me irl dammit.
ahh well you had a helluva run, and i'll get over it.
i think that's all i forgot.

If he was the elven paladin who wanted to follow Mayesha, then it was indeed Kjintareth. We spent a long time talking in her shrine before either of us entered PK range, all about beliefs and related topics. I never saw Kjintareth again after that day, but he made it into my journals. (I don't keep logs, I write about significant events in a journal file, which is why some people get forgotten accidentally)

Aww man this stinks. I really really looked up to Mel and liked her alot. When she first came to me and told me she might die soon I just didnt believe it. I am another one who thought you would be around forever. Thank you for making me a Herald and trying to keep Aldarri and I inline. I dont know what more to say other than great char, I am going to miss talking to you, and good luck with the next.

We sure did have fun, didn't we? This was my first hero, but I have to say, I didn't have any problems letting the others go but with Meladori, well, it brought tears to my eyes. I really got lost in that character and it's gonna be a while before I can do so again, but I will, I promise.

Awww.... no! Hmf. Well this just stinks. It seemed like you'd always been here, even from previous characters, and that by now you were just a permanent fixture. It seems like just yesterday that I was teasing you about secretly being an eternal undying Lich... I guess that was ill-timed.
Anyway, thank you for inducting me, and getting me started as a Herald! You were probably the closest thing to a mother-figure that Mariya has had so far, which is fairly important to her, given her background (which hopefully you remember!). I can only hope I'll do well by you with all the sorts of chaos going on around the Inn that I've been lucky enough to be privy to.

Good luck in the future, and do come around again!

The more I think about it, the more I'm confident in the shape the Heralds are in. I was getting paranoid at the end that I hadn't done enough, that the Heralds weren't back on their feet yet, but now I know that I was wrong. Inducting you was an easy decision for me, I knew that you would add a personality that we really didn't have. For a long time at that. Meladori thought Mariya was sweet, sincere, and kind. Also, your sewing work is probably the best I've seen in Carrion Fields.

It's fairly rare that I come across players that re-inspire me with hope for the role-playing in CF. (After hearing phrases like "so-called Light" and the like butchered to the point of meaninglessness it's refreshing to interact with someone that's really there instead of just playing tea with stuffed animals.) Therefore it was too tempting for me to see if I could bend you a little. And I respected your decision not to enter Hell because I understood your reasoning; it's actually prompted me to finish up some alternate questiness in the areas if that's any consolation.

By the way, sometimes bending is fun.

Meladori was afraid of you, but I always smiled a bit when I saw the shadows collect. I was very tempted to bend a few times in Meladori's life, but I also felt that Meladori's soul was tempered pretty well after the Rime Djinn and Dimion. There were quite a few times in her life when she stood strong, guess I just didn't want to give it up. Though I'm sure we would have had lots of fun if I did. Meladori nearly fainted when you showed up at her thousandth birthday party. When she grew up, when someone talked about a dark God, they talked about you. Thank you for paying attention to her, made her last years rather fun. By the way, I did gather an army of about ten Elves, all about level fifty-one, it's too bad Meladori chickened out, I'm sure we could have raised some Hell in Hell. *giggle*

You tell Meladori 'I see the gown was a big hit'

Meladori tells you 'Oh yes. Thank you so much'

You tell Meladori 'aye I was quite put out that I could not attend'

Meladori tells you 'We did miss you. Tell me, I have heard you were royalty, is this true?'

You tell Meladori 'I do not exactly like the term "royalty" I am the youngest daughter and tend to be more an exhasperation to my mother'

Meladori tells you 'Oh, I am sorry then.'

You tell Meladori 'do not be sorry'

Meladori tells you 'Perhaps another party could be in order. I do wish you could have attended the last one, but I definitely understand. I'll look into throwing a second feast.'

You tell Meladori 'aye keep me in mind'

Meladori tells you 'Of course, my lady. Fare you well'

Since then two other heros of mine have had some interactions with you.
Good job, nothing better than age dying a character you thoroughly enjoy

Arrivederci... I hope I spelled that right.. Anyway, I really liked Uelveyye a lot, great character all around. That long was back when I was lvl 45? Must have been a while back, although, I did take a long, long time to get Meladori to hero.

Although I miss this character a lot, I was happy she died to age death. Uelveyye died to age death to if I remember correctly. So, hooray to the Elven grannies!

Wow age died eh? Thats pretty cool, I kinda wish I stuck it out but there was way too much going on. I did see you around though with other characters and it was always fun to talk to you. Airael saw Meladori as a sister always, even when she started getting caught in all of that weird stuff that was going on. Glad to see you made it so far, Airael couldn't wish for anything more. Also I was very happy to see that you got the High Herald position seeing how I believed you would get it before me. Have fun meldo! See ya in the fields!

I won't say much, but Meladori was... oh, I'm not sure she was caught, but she was definitely involved with some of that weird stuff. She was kind of secretive about it, but told a few people now and then. When she got older, she told a tale or two about it, but never in great detail, I'd just try to make it sound dramatic.

Anyway, it is too bad that we couldn't grow older together, but we had lot's of fun, right? I remember when Airael would go on her little nature hikes, I always wondered where you went. I can understand if you keep it a secret, I hope we meet again with some other characters!
