Chapter 4

Ogahn returned to the wizard's hut, hopeful and certain of his future. As he
approached the hut he heard other voices with the wizard. He crept to the
outer wall and listened, quickly coming to understand they meant to enslave
him and use them for their own devices. Ogahn, would never be a slave again.

Ogahn roared a guttural warcry and tore through he heavy canvas wall of the
tent. The wizards shouted and scattered, terrified at the rampaging beast now
in their midst. The first he grabbed roughly by the calf and ripped off the
ground, the wizard's head bouncing off the packed dirt floor. He threw the
body at the one who had made false promises to him, and both crumpled onto
the ground. The second he kicked full in the chest, his sharp hoof punching a
hole nearly through him. Ogahn drove the body to the floor and took another
step forward, reaching out and snatching the last wizard by the jaw as he
started to recite the words of some spell. Ogahn crushed the lower jaw and
ripped it off in one swift motion.

He turned to the whimpering leader of the wizards, still stunned under the
limp body of the first wizard and snarled at him. As he crossed the tent, he
grabbed a stone from the edge of the cookfire, it's heat scorching the flesh
of Ogahn's hand. He tossed the dead wizard aside with a rough jerk and pulled
the leader across the floor and through the embers of the cookfire. He wizard
screamed and pleaded, but Ogahn had no mercy for him, no mercy for the weak.
Using the hot stone he shattered both legs and then went to work on the soft
hands of the wizard. His finger bones would decorate Ogahn's beard nicely.

As he twisted the last bone into his beard, he looked up and realized that
the melee had caused the tent to catch fire. In fact, the entire encampment
burned around him. He looked around for the priestess but could not see her
anywhere. He snarled, but knew that he must set out and continue on. The wild
flames of his Lady Ocayie scoured this place clean, and it was time for him
to start anew.

Chapter 3

Crack... crack... craaack...

The snapping of the finger bones mixed with the bloodcurdling screams of the
latest fool wizard who thought he could control Ogahn brought a grim smile to
the monstrous minotaur's blood-covered face. Hatred and anger fueld him, and
he thought back to the events that led him here. Ogahn had spent nearly a
year in the forest, learning the teachings of Ocaiye from her priestess.
After that, he had taken part in the marking ceremony, and begun his basic
training with weapons. It was determined that he would go off to the Academy
and study in the warrior's guild. He would be the swordarm of this small
coven of fire worshippers.

He was enthralled by the priestess, and would spend days lazing in the grove
where he first met her, listening to her speak of the Lady Ocaiye and her
teachings. Ogahn longed to touch her and take her as his own. He lusted after
her. She flirted with him and returned his affections, often whispering close
in to his ear, or laying on his chest near the fire as she wove her tales and
preached the words of her Lady Ocaiye. But they never succumed to the passion
that would inevitably lead to her death. Still, he wanted her, and finally
the promises of a traveling wizard lured him into a trap.

The wizard had promised him that he could use his powerful artifact, a ruby
that looked like fire and blood all at once, to allow him to cast a spell of
protection that would prevent the normal gruesome death of a woman who was
impregnated by a minotaur. Ogahn quickly agreed, and hurried to tell the
priestess the good news. However, Ogahn could not find her. No matter, he
thought, the spell would be for him, and would prevent his seed from taking
root. He could tell her the good news after the wizard did his work.

Chapter 2

Slap.... slap... slap...

The hands covered in the crimson liquid slapped against the corded muscles
of the dark-skinned minotaur in sync with the rhythmic chanting of the chained
fire giant slaves. Ogahn glared down at them with a mix of contempt and
wonder. He saw those who continued to suffer and refuse to break their chains
as weak, but these slaves did so willingly. Perhaps they were not slaves, so
much as supplicants, dedicants, unwavering adherents to their faith. The turn
of events that led him to this grove of bonfires worked its way through his
thoughts.

He had just crossed the Wastes of Nonviel when he spotted a large fire in a
glade, the flames dancing through the branches, casting flickering shadows
across the forest. He slowed down and crept towards the fire, surely there
were merchants or something of the sort with a large meal on the fire. A
quick and easy slaughter for him, and he'd have a hot meal. As he came to the
edge of the glade and started to formulate a plan of attack, he noticed a
figure in crimson robes and no one else. This was too easy, he though to
himself. He stepped menacingly into the glade and locked eyes with the robed
figure across the roaring fire.

"What brings you to Her, Destroyer?" A woman's voice was inside his head and
the black eyes of his quarry flared and danced with flames. He was ensnared
and walked slowly towards her, falling to his knees just before reaching the
fire. The woman walked delicately around the bonfire and to Ogahn's side. She
leaned in, and a whisper escaped her blood red lips. "She has been waiting
for you..."

Chapter 1

Drip... drip... drip...

The blood dripped from the table, slowly pooling on the pockmarked stone
floor. A near imperceptible pop, and the blood broke it's pooling and crept
along the grooves between the stones, spreading slowly but deliberately. The
scene atop the table was brutal, but necessary, Ogahn grinned as he took one
last look and turned away, striding out of the laboratory. He would no more
be a breeding bull for the scheming wizard. Ogahn worked his way up the tight
and steep stairway and emerged to a scene of blood, fire and chaos. He and
his fellow minotaur had risen up against the enclave of cultish wizards who
oppressed them, breeding them and enslaving them to their bidding. Originally
members of an obscure cult worshipping the Great Wild Beast beyond the Wastes
of Nonviel, the centuries long absence of Saraba had created something of a
power vacuum, filled by a scheming cadre of wizards. A cadre that was quickly
disappearing in the rage of their one-time servants.

Though young, Ogahn had been a breeding bull and had sired a handful of cruel
young minotaur himself. Three of them had banded together, and now confronted
him as he emerged from the tower's dungeon, they cowered just a bit in his
presence, his imposing silhouette emerging from the now burning tower and
casting a large and terrifying shadow over them. He knew instinctively what
they were about and grinned as he saw the fear in their eyes before he roared
a challenge and charged them. He galloped on all fours as much as ran on two
and took the first full in the chest, his large sharp horns ripping apart the
muscle, bone and sinew and snapping out the back in a spray of crimson. He
stopped and rose to his full height, shaking his head and whipping the fast
dying firstborn off his horns and at the next son to his right. The brutal
speed and force drove the second son to the ground and Ogahn was upon him. He
lunged for the face of his stunned opponent and ripped at him with savage
bites, tearing away chunks of his snout and eventually getting ahold of the
throat. He tore it away and spun at the third of his scions. There was no
fight left in this one. The brutal savagery had taken less than a minute,
and he was frozen in terror, in shocked awe of his sire.

Ogahn reached down to the first body, still shuddering as the last bits of
life spilled onto the flagstones, grabbed an ankle and jerked. He ripped
free the lower leg and stalked towards the third. No forgiveness for betrayal
and no mercy for the weak. Ogahn battered at the body until the twitching
ceased. The fire raged around him, and the screaming subsided. Ogahn left the
rest of the minotaur, heading west towards Seantryn Modan, and whatever lay
before him.
