Chapter 6

**** A small torn and worn journal is here *****
Twice the dreams have come to me. I felt pain both
times. The first at the loss of what I think is
my village, it seems to familiar. The second and
almost as intense, the pain of the magic. Underwater
somehow, Searing my skin, straight to the bone.

What is it? Where was it? Who am I? I need to find
out. I need to know.... But how? I'll speak with
Dorlangan about them when I see him again. But for now
I just don't want to dream any more....

Chapter 5

Nossos does not remember much of anything
a farm and a mine and a small village, but faces are muddy and names
are nonexistent. He does not recognize Akan or any other city in Thera,
though some seem almost familiar, maybe in spirit, but not in actual
substance. He suspects that he may have a family somewhere, and spent
time as a smith.

He regularly feels ill and vomits after encountering mages. He tries
to wash the taste out of his mouth with ale. He is a serious dwarfs
dwarf. Hes gruff, loyal, and, because he remembers so little of
whatever happened before, hes a little bit mystified, frustrated, and
commonly has moments of absolute awe and wonder. He has occasional
bouts of sadness about whatever it is that happened to him before
especially after too much ale or mage-induced vomiting.

Guild: Nossos, a smith by trade as much as he knows, finds himself
drawn to the guild of warriors. Knowing that if he is to ever
make the best implements of war, he must know how to use them.

Sphere: Time/Fate speaks to Nossos. So much that he doesn't know
about his past, and what it will take to find it. He is fated
to find himself again, to understand why he came to this strange
unfamiliar world.

Cabal: The sickness drives him. Nossos knows that he's sick because
of the taint of magic. He finds himself enthralled by Tahrens stories.
and feels at home in his forge. He will find his home in the huts
of the village.

Chapter 4

Nossos had spent his time in Galadon, trying to learn more
of his past, of who he was, and if possible how to get back
to the home he knew was out there somewhere. It was mostly
a futile effort. He did learn a few things. Being in the
smithy came almost as a second nature to him. The heat of
the forge felt good... and familiar.

It was on a warm summer day, that he decided to first take
himself out of the city. Out east he went, exploring as he
did. Walking past a set of bushes, he noticed a small path
leading to the south. Once he walked though, he could hear
it. Faint clanging, that only a trained ear would pick up.
Marching through the ruined streets, he came to the smithy.

A man looked up at him and smiled, then moved back to the
forge. Nossos walked in and sat down then, looking forlornly
at the anvil. That was when the stories started to flow.
Almost as if he were a long lost friend....

Nossos learned that the smiths name was Tahren. He heard
stories of great men and women, fighting a taint, a blight
on Thera. Nossos was engrossed in those stories, he could
feel them touch his soul. It was then that he knew, if
he was to ever find his home, to see the face of that woman
in his dreams, he would have to find a way to fight that
blight, to remove that taint from the world.

Chapter 3

He couldn't remember how many times he'd walked down the main
road of Galadon, from the west to the east, and back again, each
time he neared the west gate, his stomach would turn. Bile would
rise in his mouth. It wasn't until he tried to step foot in the
Apothecary that he realized it was the stench of the magic used
by those vendors and from the Invokers guild that had him so
sick.

He started to pay attention, walking down to the south gate, just
before he got there... Yep for certain, he was about ready to lose
his breakfast. It got so sensitive, he could tell when one of the
guildmembers was walking down the road, even if they had cloaked
themselves in their magic. Once he even lost his lunch so bad
that he splattered steak, potatoes and ale all over the gnome
as he had exited the shapeshifters guild.

The sickess perplexed Nossos. It took him months to start to
realize that it might not be something wrong with him, but
perhaps it was an inkling to a taint. Something that was making
him sick, might just be making the new world he was in sick.

Chapter 2

Nossos was sleeping in the small room he had rented in Galadon.
Tossing and turning all night. It had been some months since
Dorlangan had brought them out of the mountains and south to this
strange, yet somehow familiar city.

In his dream he is standing in a dark mist, he can barely make
out the outlines of houses in a small village near the mouth of
a great mine. Behind him, a barn, looming darkly with shapes
inside that move with a strange otherworldliness.

A voice from behind, speaking in tones so muffled, he can't make
out the words, but its a womans voice, of that he's sure. As he
looks down, he can see a blacksmiths apron hanging off his neck,
tied tightly around his back. A large hammer is there, in his
hand, gripped tightly.

The voice behind him is getting more insistent, more urgent, almost
desperate...

And then he wakes.

Chapter 1

Grumbling in a deep rocky voice, the svirfneblin continued to
pull on his leg down the mountain trail. Oft speaking about
perhaps just pushing him down the mountain and meeting him at
the bottom.

"Nossos....Nossoss..." were the only words coming from his lips
in a whisper.

Dirty, and covered in strange circular scars, the young dwarf
faded in and out of consciousness. Finally reaching the end
of his endurance the svirfneblin plopped himself down in a
small clearing in the mountains, and after resting for a short
time, built a small fire.

Watching at the dwarf slept, and murmured. The Svirf wasn't sure
what to make of this strange thing. He treated what he could of
the scars on the boys body. They were numerous, and some had just
started to fester.

It was a few hours, near the warm fire, that seemed to help the
most. The young dwarf woke not long after sundown, and sat up
with a start.

"Where am I... Wha.... Who..." he exclaimed as he scrambled away
from the fire and the svirf who had carried him.

"You're awake, good, whats your name there youngin?" said the
svirf.

"My name be..." he said and then paused "I ain't knowin, how yer
come here? I ain't e'en sure where here be... This all be confusin
as kin be." said the young dwarf

"Well only thing you have said before this was Nossos, so that seems
good enough till we figure out what it should be. We're in the
mountains near Udgaard, Durn near carried your fat but out already."

"Udgaard, ain't ne'er heered o' that place... Where's that at?" said
Nossos.

"Oi, we have a long way to go, get some grub and a bit of rest, we
can talk more after your belly is full, names Dorlangan by the by,
good to meet ya Nossos." Dorlangan said as he passed a small plate
of food over to Nossos.
