Chapter 3

Ishtavix stepped forth before the Prince of Darkness, sharp icy gusts of wind
kicked up by the dark lords wings blasted him in the face like war hammers of
ice to the head. The prince gazed down upon Ishtavix, still flailing about in
his prison of his own tears. Cocytus echoed with a thunderous voice as the
prince spoke to him. Ishtavix, you are mine. You have proven yourself worthy
of my chosen, few have the perseverance to reach my abode. Accept my
domination of your soul, and serve me in Eternity! Ishtavix dropped to his
knees, the icy winds created by the dark lord blasting him still, chapping
his lips and face. He cried out YES! MY SPIRIT IS YOURS! With that, the
Prince of Darkness lashed out, sending Ishtavix flailing to the ground
writhing in agony as the mark of the Devil slowly burned its way into his
flesh. The prince of darkness spoke out once more in a commanding voice,
glaring down at Ishtavix. I have work for you, and you will not fail me. You
will return to the surface, where you will work sending me souls to feed on.
Preach the sins, and you will venture forth into my pit again. You will
descend, and you will prove your loyalties to me by bringing me the head of
each of my chosen. Remind my arch devils whom their master is....bring me
their horns, or burn in agony forever! With that, Ishtavix was thrown
violently into convulsions of burning agony, and the last thing he could hear
before he passed out was the diabolical laughter of his lord.

Ishtavix awoke in an alley of galadon. He was dirtied, bloodied and wounded.
Was it all a dream? As he stirred and sat up, he felt the immense pain in his
arm where mark had been branded to his flesh. So then, he thought to himself.
Let his work be done...

Chapter 2

Since his meeting with Gurgthock and the bull of Minos, Ishtavix has kept his
wits as he thirsted for more of the masters power. Having but a sample of the
Prince of Darkness's true potential, Ishtavix is determined to be found
worthy to be found with his chosen. Knowing it would be a long path before he
could present himself to the boatman and begin the drop into the pit,
Ishtavix looked for sources of more power on the surface. It did not take
long for him to be drawn to the desert, where the dark chasm there almost
pulsated with dark magical energy. After learning of the magics within,
Ishtavix decided using his power with theirs would be a powerful tool in
accomplishing his goals. He quickly became a favorite of the Chancellor
Charine, learning everything he is able to about the dark magics she is in
command of. All along the way, Ishtavix is murdering, stealing, and
destroying, all in the name of the Prince of Darkness. His spirit roars with
the infernal fire of the lord of sixes, and he continues forth guided only by
the dark ones own luck.

Chapter 1

Ishtavix had left the underdark and had been a surface walker for five years
before the dreams began. He was still young by all drowish standards, and was
living in Udgaard getting by working as a priest in the temple there. He
hardly cared for his work, each day in and out going through the motions to
make a living. Respectful of the heavens but bowing to no god, Ishtavix's
ties with the divine became more and more unholy as his mind spoiled from
hate and rage at feeling lost and useless. At first the dreams came on slow,
he would be in darkness and hear a commanding voice call his name out. As the
weeks went on, he would get visions in flashes. He saw visions of rivers of
blood, fierce looking horned devils and a city kept by the dead. Ishtavix was
unsure what to make of his dreams, they were cloudy and without meaning. He
pondered what these signs meant for weeks until finally, it was all to become
clear to him. The final dream seemed as real as anything Ishtavix ever knew.
He awoke suspended in the air in a translucent state, as if not completely
there. Looking around, this could be more of ones nightmare than a dream. He
hovered over Cocytus in the bottom of the furthest pit, and it soon became
very clear to him that he was being visited in his dreams by the Prince of
Darkness himself. The words of the prince of darkness boomed in his head like
a thunderclap. YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN, MORTAL. MANY HEAR THE CALL, BUT FEW HAVE
THE STRENGTH TO REACH MY ABODE. A cold chill ran down the spine of Ishtavix
as the Prince of Darkness spoke once more. THE HELLS STIR. YOU ARE TO BE MY
HAND IN THIS DOMAIN, AND OUT OF IT. SPEAK NOW, DO YOU DEFER TO MY POWER?
Overwhelmed with the presence of the Dark Lord, Ishtavix screamed out, YES!
The dark lord focused his three heads on Ishtavix, his voice booming again in
his head. MY POWER DOES NOT COME WITHOUT A PRICE, MORTAL. YOU MUST PROVE YOU
ARE WORTHY TO GAZE UPON MY INFERNAL GLORY. YOU WILL SEEK GURGTHOCK FOR A
TASTE OF MY POWER, AND YOU WILL DECEND INTO MY LAIR, PROVING YOUR LOYALTY AND
WORTH TO ME WITH EACH CONDEMNING ACT. DO THIS, AND WE WILL SPEAK OF THE WORK
I HAVE FOR YOU IN THE PITS ABOVE. With these last words, the Prince of
Darkness lashed a talon out at Ishtavix, snapping him awake. He could still
hear the swirling winds echo in his head made by the devils beating wings,
and the booming voice. Ishtavix knew now what his purpose was, and he went
forth to seek Gurgthock for a taste of dark power to prepare him for the
journey to come.
