Kornuel the Grand Master of Artistry, Imperial War Master

Chapter 6

Kornuel was born in the rich family in Seantryn Modan. Luck you say, not at
all. He was fifth child in a family. On one hand he could be sure he would
never starve, but on other hand what destiny was awaiting him? Being
dependant on will of his brothers? Or work day and night as clerk in his
family bussiness? And why? Maybe because he is dumper than brothers, or
weaker, or what? Not at all, just he was born later than them!

Of cause, it took time for him to realize it. At sixteen he noticed that he
is better than his brothers just at anything - studing at school, training in
fighting, helping father in commerce. More than that he was surely more
beutifull and attractive. But still he was just fifth child! That couldn't
suit him. He wanted more! He wanted to become rich and famouse. And the Plan
was created.

One day he left his home not forgetting to take all money that were at
hause(at least that he knew about). He hided at ship that was sailing to
Hamsah and continued then his travell to Arkham. This city became his new
home. He bought a house there and began new life.

Time passed, the money he stole was comming to the end as he couldn't live
like others. He was buying expensive food, drinks, clothes..and one day he
found himself on the street with 2 silver coins in his pocket. He needed the
new ideas now - there to get money and what to do with his life. He became
beggar and started panhandling on the streets of Arkham. But his clothes were
still rich and he just couldn't change them on something more simple. Never!
It was easier for him not to eat than look less attractive.

One day his was sitting near Arkham market and whistled some sorrow song. A
gold coin was droped at his feet! He continued and by the end of the day he
got more than he usualy earned during a week! So his voice attracts others!
It was a chance and he couldn't miss it. He began to train his voice, learn
new songs and sing, sing, sing... Soon he found that he enjoys it himself.
Singing not only helped him to survive but became the part of his life, his
profession. He even tried to create songs self but soon found that just don't
have talent for it. And he never would do something he do bad! He also
noticed that from all songs most of all he and those who surround him like
those that filled with sorrow even tragedy.

Chapter 5

And again time passed. Kornuel regain his possesions, he became known singer
in Arkham. But strong man can't stop at being just known in even not the
largest city of Thera. No! It was time to make next step. All was needed is
to find direction.

And it wasn't hard. There is only one organization in Thera that gives a
chance for those who realy strong in heart, for those who seek power, for
those who wish to rule others. It is mighty Empire. So Kornuel made his
decision. One day he would bring his oath and stand on a way of conquest.

But Empire don't need weaks so Kornuel have a long way. He should first reach
his perfect in singing, learn his songs, earn money to pay his donations.
Only then when he would feel not only he would need Empirem but Empire itself
would need him (or at least he would be real help for Empire) only when the
oath would be given. And after that nothing should stop him in his search of
more and more power from one stage of Empire ierarchy to another. And one day
he might stop at the Throne leading Empire to its benefit in final conquest
of Thera!

Chapter 4

What is greed? Some people say its a sin those who are blinded by their
stupid morale, or false faith or anything. They see only one side of the
medal and even that side they dont see fully. Strong man knows that greed is
way to power and rulership. Those who dismay usually name the man greedy if
he concerns on earning money. Yes, money itself isnt the good aim for strong
person. But money allows to buy much more important things best clothes,
food, weapons, even power itself. Those who earn money just to have them are
rare. But even they dont sit in await that money would come to them they
work on it. More than that there are different types of greed. The greed of
money Id place to the bottom of the list. But there is greed to better
clothes, better style of life, greed to more strength, greed for the power

Greed is a way to self development. Greed is like the system of circles with
one center and extending radiuses. What does it mean? Lets say we have a man
who once in his life figured to himself that he wants say things A,B,C that
would be our circle of minimum size. If he is not weak he works to achieve
his purpose and one day he has that things. But what now? He filled his first
circle but now he on the border of it he finds things D,E,F,G and he wants to
get them as well. More than that he wishes to keep thing heve already
achieved. This process have no ceiling for a strong one the more he gains
the more he wishes. Though there are those who say Ill earn this and this
and stop and I would be happy. Those are weak, they fear the challenge of
next circle. Strong man works even harder and fills next circle and so on.
With each new circle he needs more and more effords to earn his wishes. He
needs to become more and more strong. And thus he develop himself.

Chapter 3

Years passed from the time when Kornuel gave his blood oath to the Empire. A
lot have happened during that time. He made decent career in Imperial ranks
reaching the Elite postion in his Sect. Not that it filled his greed of
power, but he was still proud of himself. Anyway he is not old yet and have
plenty of time to reach much more.

Kornuel have met a number of strong allys among imperial citizens (not
friends surely-those who wants to reach much can't allow such luxury as
having friends) but what disapoints him they are not from his own Sect. And
it's not his fault - the lack of strong Blades made it. Surely Kornuel tries
to help out those of his Sect in hope to make them stronger, but in battles
he found
himself with say some priests way more often.

One day Kornuel found to himself that he is ready to help any citizen of
Empire without demand of payment even if they don't belong to the Blade
Sect.He tryed to figure that out to himself and have explained it - partialy
it was lack of strong allys in his Sect and more than that he found that if
you do some help to others and don't demand payment people start to feel
themself in debt. And that is unpleasant feeling. Thus they would try to
repay you even if you don't ask. And in long extend the payment is usualy way
better.

Chapter 2

Kornuel started to feel that something is wrong this present War Master from
early days of his life in Empire. The more he served Empire the more this
feeling grow. He was sure his strenght and faith would be noticed by Kostyan,
but it took much more time than he could imagine to reach the Elite position
- he reached the highest rank in his guild even earlier. More than that this
position was granted him not because of his attitude to serving the Empire,
defeating numerous of its enemies but for payment of 200 gold. That was first
ring. That showed that War Master still staying strong warrior became lazy
just to collect abit of money and reward his Blade for his servitude. Strong
leader don't do that just because that breaks the morale of those whome he
lead.

The hole situation in the Sect is quiet strange. Exept of War Master himself
there is just no realy strong warriors. The politic with promoting is just
unclean. On one hand such weak persons like Horkampz who fills the Thera with
his corpses thus increasing the respect to Blade Sect or such a useless
ministrel Sasha get the Elite position (and quiet sure for free). On other
Kornuel or Dashmiri who proved their strenght and attitude to the Conquest
hold basic position in the Sect during a long period of time.

And THAT happens. Kornuel have gotten the demotion. And why? Let's see the
whole situation. So the Fortress holds Codex. During some time Kornuel stays
alone against three paladins and elven transmuter with just no chances to
retrive. Then Dashmiri and Horkampz awakens. Three Blades decide to gather at
the Inn of Eternal Star to make a shot on the Fortress. At that moment War
Master awakens and order all of them come to the Sect Hall there he continues
to waste their and his time asking pointless questions. After that he calls
all other citizens to gather in the same Inn.
All Blades leave the palace and move towards meeting place. Worth of mention
that here no order like "Stick togeter, team." wasn't done. On Eastern road
group meets scion betrayal Zhoraz. Quick fight happens at crossroads and
shifter runs. Kornuel chases him just some steps north and thus leave the
group. He explains that he would wait others in the meeting place. He comes
there and as noone else have arrived decides to scout around abit and on
Sumner crossroad he meets two more scions. His lullaby makes them sleep.
Other Blades arives, but Zhoraz arives to help his mates and falls asleep
aswell. As result two Scions die to their nightmares, citizens proceed to
Fortress, retrieve Codex killing two of four defenders in the process.
The victory and celebration? No. Kostyan leads blades to the Palace and there
demotes Kornuel for not following his orders and breaking the discipline,
explaining that the aim was just to retrieve Codex and so leaving the group
was against his order. But if the aim was to get the Codex back it was just
nessesary to kick Scions off. They knew that Empire lost Codex, they scouted
the area before Fortress in hope to catch citizens unguarded, if they were
not stoped the retrive could went just other way. So for Kornuel it was just
clear that eaither War Master is stupid or more likely he just lied hiding
the real reason of demoting.

And there are only two options what this reason is. On

Chapter 1

Today Kornuel had a talk with War Master about his demotion. Kostyan pointed
out that the reason of it was his wish to give Kornuel a lesson. He told that
he see Kornuel as potencial next War Master, but that Kornuel should learn to
fight his battles not just on his own, but to coordinate his actions with
others. And Kornuel found that there is truth in that words. At least there
is something to think about. On one hand the disapointment of loosing elite
powers made Kornuel angree, suspicious and kind of blind. On other hand blind
trusting in War Master's words wouldn't lead to something good aswell. All
should be thinked and judged, so Kornuel needs to calm down, see what would
come next, regain Elite position and then if situation would be convinient
make a shot on War Master position.
