Nizidrayt Ironvein the Scarred Mystic of the Wilds, Harbinger of Thar-Eris

Chapter 2

Born in the depth of Underdark in the city of Lower Cragstone,
Nizidrayt was the first-born child of the one of the richest and noblest
families of the city. His family, Ironveins, was known for their natural
skills and talent in growing gems of rare beauty in their cave gardens.
From the very childhood young svirfnebli was surrounded by exquisite
things of rare beauty and servants. The library of his family was
considered to be one of the best private libraries in Lower Cragstone,
and his father had a habit of organizing tea parties with the most famous
bards and travellers who visited the city.

Nizidrayt's inborn talent in magic became apparent in the very young
age. "Gifted" is the word which his teachers were most oftenly using
while describing his studies. Most of the spells which took years to learn
for other students were merely a joke for the young magus, and it looked
like he had a natural-born affinity in every element and in every spell
he's learned. It almost looked like he is recalling some long forgotten
knowledge instead of learning tomes of knowledge from the scratch.

But with big talent comes self-confidence and pride. Being the child who
was allowed to do almost everything from the day he was born,
Nizidrayt showed little respect to his teachers and elders of the city. It
almost looked like he was born a hooligan and a rogue. Very soon he
became well known for his tricks and "jokes" some of which were on
the very border of crime. Only the wealth and influence of his family
saved his arse from some serious troubles and even possible exile from
the svirfnebli city (Well, when you are the one who burned the beards of
all the Elders during the yearly Feast of Stones and caused mass chaos,
you are certainly well known. In a sad meaning of "known") No need
to say that all his escapades saddened his father a lot, and at the end
young magus was locked inside the Mage Tower of Lower Cragstone till
the time he will get some wisdom and respect into his stubborn head of
stone. While being a wise decision, his parents were merely trying to
lock a spring of water among the bowls of stone

Role

Chapter 1

Being one of the most talented students for the whole history of Lower
Cragstone, Nizi decided that he can experiment with knowledge which
was only revealed to the most experienced mages of the Tower. Noone
knows how he's managed to steal the Tome of Major Elements from the
library, but at the end it did not matter all that much. Dangerous games
of the inexperienced mage with uncontrolled magic could not have
"happy ending". Major perturbation of magic and grant explosion were
the results. Young magus was right in the centre of calamity, and, to be
honest, noone even knows how he's managed to survive.

For several months young svirfnebli was on the edge of death. Actually,
how he has managed to survive is still a mystery. But after he has
awoken, things became very different for him. The most visible change
were scars and burns on his face and body. Those scars could not be
healed by any magic and prayer, and formerly handsome Nizi now
became much less suave. His movement became slower, and former
grace has never returned to him. Less visible but much more tragic were
changed in his talent. Nizi seems to lose all his affinity in working with
magic of water, and he now could only manipulate with the most basic
spells of this element.

But the deepest scars were left in his mind. While he was unconscious,
in his dreams he saw the Spirit of Earth coming to him. Talking to him.
Showing him mistakes in the ways of svirfnebli nation. And in his
personal ways.

What was it? Nighmares? Delirium? Visions? Noone could say for sure.
But for young magus that became the one and only meaning of life. As
soon as he could walk again, he came to his family and declared that he
can no longer live among the walls of the city and that he must seek the
goal of his life elsewhere. He declared that he can no longer be the
successor of his family. After that he left the city immediately taking
with him only his personal spell book and cloth he was wearing.

Where is he going? He is not sure.
What is ahead? Noone knows.

But he is listening to the Earth. And heading the way It says him to go.
