It's magic. You are fairly aware it's coming, but there isn't anything you can really do about it. Just like if I cast fireball at you, and I'm going to do it again.

These are physical attacks that you can better prepare for, think of yourself as a short period of adrenaline-fueled hyper-awareness of the shadows, what may be lurking in them, or attempts to knock you out again. That's not going to stop magic. So long, and thanks for all the fish!
