Keep in mind we're talking about enough of a force to raid Battle and kill the Destructor with at least one hero Battle warrior there. Given the way most people play, that's at least three people. (If you're one of the people that does it with less people, probably, you aren't struggling with a low-dex non-dagger spec hamstringing you.)

Keep in mind we're assuming there's at least one warrior or shifter in the raiding group. Probably, we're not busting out the hamstring on, say, an invoker -- yes, it does reduce how far he can run without running out of moves, but there's great odds that he can walk at least far enough to word, and in most cases he doesn't care all that much about losing some dex. (We could crunch through the thief/ranger/assassin cases too, but I think they're similar enough.)

An offensive shifter, played well, has an excellent chance of being able to slow down the successive moves after the hamstring, if not achieve total command denial. DR or no DR, it's going to be hard for Vh to avoid taking a huge beating if he tried to get that vaunted hamstring/switch/whirl/switch/entwine combo out. (If you're a defensive shifter who cares about their dex like mongoose/lemur, theoretically someone who isn't you is set up to do the damage or do something about this, or again, what are you doing there?) Utility's a more interesting case based on form draw but is also likely well set up one way or another.

If you're a dexy warrior instead: congratulations, you're the right size for optimal bashing of Vhloughvang. There isn't anything he can do about this. Most likely, you can trip him also -- and in the one rare case that you can't, that too opens up a further weakness you can exploit. Assuming you're geared to suck up at least some of the -dex from the hamstring (and you should be, unless you just died ten minutes ago, in which case what are you doing raiding Battle?) it's going to be easy for you to land dirt kick and slow down the change of weapons. If you anticipate what he's trying to do, drive opens up some excellent possibilities. And that's without even getting into your specs.

All of this assumes the other people raiding with you are more or less useless, too. If they're able to support you or put pressure on him in some way, it makes it just that much harder for the stars to align to the 'you're screwed' point.

All that, and odds are he missed the hamstring and has nothing to show for those two rounds but a free hit from you.

It's pretty rare that a Battle character can keep the rare piece of armor that helps with that for very long.
