Role

Chapter 1

My parents were berserkers, strong ones who were known for
their power and ferocity in battle. They also were some of
the rudest people you could have ever met in your life. They
would consistently drink barrels of ale a day and expected me
to do the same and because of that, I was consistently a drunk
from an early age. My parents also felt that their hands were
allowed to be any place they wished to be at any time. They
would consistently be found fondling and grabbing both lads
and lasses by the hair, the breasts, and the genitals as if
it was their right. Of course, all of this did not matter to
them because they felt that their war records made them above
any reproach or question. Obviously, the sins of the father
or mother are often repeated by the child.

It did not strike me until later in my life that I realized
the behavior of my family was not right and not something that
I should have ever repeated. It still bothers me daily that
I did. It took me time to begin to treat my fellow dwarves
like they were real people instead of just possessions won in
battle. This was also the time that I began to rebel against
my parents and their ideals, instead wanting to be merciful
and caring of my fellow dwarves so that I could protect them
and nurture them as they should be. I began to step between
my parents and their conquests with their hands and instead
tell them no. This endeared the people of Akan to me, but it
sealed my fate with the Thunderhammer clan.
