Chapter 8

In the heart of the woods, 'neath the towering tree's shade,
Merigaeld's home, in serenity, it swayed.
With her children inside, she stood strong, so brave,
To protect all she cherished, she'd risk life's cruel wave.

Imperials arrived, with their ships made of greed,
Their eyes cold as steel, fueled by terrible need.
She rushed to defend, 'gainst the fire's cruel dance,
But the flames showed no mercy, in their fiery advance.

The inferno erupted, a magical blaze,
Her home turned to cinders, in a burning, cruel craze.
She screamed in despair, as the flames licked the sky,
As her treehouse crumbled, she could only cry.

Her hands, charred and scarred, tried to save all she knew,
But the fire was relentless, her heart it did skew.
Ashen tears on her cheeks, as she fell to her knees,
Her soul torn asunder, by the forest's cruel tease.

Black soot stained her face, as the villagers came,
To rescue Merigaeld from the inferno's cruel game.
But the loss was so great, her heart heavy with woe,
As the forest around her, with anguish did glow.

Now every note she plays, on her instrument so dear,
Echoes with the pain, and the loss she holds near.
In her fingers, the scars, remind her each day,
Of the price she paid, in that forest so gray.

Her quest for vengeance, a burning desire,
To quench the flames of her anguish, with malice on fire.
In the refuge of Thar-Eris, she finds her might,
To avenge her lost kin, in the depths of the night.
