Chapter 1

Skryth thought the curse had finally come to take his life when
the Lady Amaranthe appeared before him, with Scythe in hand. Though her
gentle chidings and her form of a motherly woman quickly quieted those
thoughts. When she revealed that he and Thilziloins had both been
chosen as contenders for Harbinger he was honored indeed. He felt he
could do great good for the Refuge, though in the back of his mind
lurked the idea that this might finally bring his family the
redemption they sought. He refused to back down, even though a
nagging voice urged him to allow the old druid to take the mantle.
Though Skryth being who he was, was never one to back down from
a challenge. Only time will tell what the fates have in store for him.
