Chapter 14

hand was shaking violently].
Gone, all gone. Gone!

Miriad souls that kept us strong
That staved off the cold of death;
With one mistake a pain so deep,
That life was cold instead.
Our strength now gone, a mockery
Of power once so great;
Perhaps this fall should have been known,
Perhaps it was our fate.

No tears for us, no words to say
For what more can be said;
Our souls are taken from our grasp,
We wished that we were dead.

And so it comes the end we knew
Would come for us in time;
Though this creation lost to us,
Our art remains sublime.
