Chapter 1

Zaralv Aran'tel was born in Aran'gird. A lesser clan though, all the royalty
are Freth'Aran. Greth'Aran. Teth'Aran. Trel'Aran. Aran being the latter part
of surname. As such, Zaralv has always had something to prove. That's why
he's driven by victory, he thinks achieving consistent victories for the
Empire will validate his prowess to the Empire, to his enemies, and himself.

His biggest insecurity and fear is that he will not be as tough or as
respected as he secretly wants to be. Furthermore, he gets nervous around the
Divine (immortals, not the sect.) because he feels like they see right
through him.

* Wants to build a strong Empire as he feels like if he dies and has left a
strong Empire in his past his life was a 'victory' of sorts. Has taken the
Empire laws to heart. Empire first. Then Sect. Then self. As a result he's
fairly generous to Imperials. But if you disrespect him, he'll bust you down.

* Is very attached to the idea of 'Hattie', his fine leather hat that talked
to him which is now gone. Has found out from Gaspare that it may be linked to
Daphedee and he is cautiously considering becoming religious.
