A visage of pure horror meets your gaze. What may have once been a woman of
some beauty has become corrupted by the dark magics of the becoming. Lank,
white hair hangs from her skull, patches of it missing, showing bone beneath
the scalp. Her skin is an ashen color, with the consistency of old, weathered
leather, covered in the dust of neglect and pulled taut over her fine bone
structure. Her lips have frayed and become tattered almost to the point of
non-existence, revealing long yellowed teeth all the way to the roots, as
they embed themselves in her jaw and maxilla. Where her nose may once have
been is a small dark triangle, useless now for the need to draw breath, or
smell the scents of the living world are beyond her. Above her angular cheek
bones, all the more prominent due to the gaunt visage of her face, are her
eye sockets, blacker than the darkest shadows. Within them float two orbs
of malevolent fire, glowing with a violet light, perhaps in remembrance of
the eyes which once sparkled there in life, but which now regard the world
with a baleful gaze.
Her body is swathed in linen bandages, some of which have loosen, and
shrouded in dark robes, embroidered with the runes of powerful necromantic
magic. Though her frame is barely more than a skeletal husk, she shoulders
the various armors and magical accouterments with apparent ease. Her thin
arms end in skeletal hands as sharp as claws, but they grip both weapon and
wand with the dark strength of the undead. Running through what you see
exposed of her body you see the network of veins and arteries, which once
carried her life blood, now no more that a spiderweb of dark energies.
Beneath her feet you see all semblance of life wither and die, plant, insect
and even stone decays at her footfall and the charnel stink which reaches
your senses is unmistakable. Watching her carefully you see that...
