Chapter 1

A large fist, carved of a brilliant red ruby gemstone is lying across the cavern
floor here. The translucence of the gemstone is incredible, and through the
inside, the fist can be seen clutching what appears to be a broken scepter of
sparkling obsidian, with a large faceted saphire adorning the thumbward half
of the broken object. The detail of the fist is incredible, and one might imagine
that the fist was crushing the object within its grasp at that very moment. It
is hard to distiguish whether this monument was carved by a mans hand, or shaped
from the very earth itself. There are no chisel marks to be spotted upon the
objects surface, and the realism achieved by the artist is incredible. You can
almost see the anger and rage of the fist and forearm clenching what you might
infer to be a broken scepter once radiating magic. Veins are distinguishable
upon the forearm of the brilliant ruby monument, and fat stubby fingers appear
to tightly clutch the scepter grasped within. It is possible that the saphire
gemstone affixed to the top of the obsidian scepter once gleamed with a brilliant
luster. However, if that was the case no such distinction can be made any longer
as the saphire, though faceted by some fine dwarf, or mason - is dull, and no
longer shines with an inner fire, as such fine gemstones often do. Upon the fists
fat middle finger, is a brilliant ring of multicolored jasper. The band, and the
disc upon it all shaped from the material. As you gaze upon the disc, it is clear
that a perfect replica of the known lands of Thera has been meticulously crafted
on it's surface. From the Shadow Grove in the west, to the Castle of Barovia in
the east the landscape stretches. Mount Calandryl in the north, to the Desert of
Araille in the south. The city of Galadon in the center. All created from the
most lustrious multicolored jasper you have ever seen, the colors seeming to
imitate the real Theran landscape you have seen. About halfway between the City
of Galadon, and the Port City of Hamsah Mu'tazz is a deep green emerald, cut into
the shape of Hut. The whole peice in it's entirety is about forty feet in length,
and easily fifteen feet wide.

A small inscription in the runic language of the dwarves, carved in a block of
worked mithril reads: Mageslayer - By Grembolin Stonefist

Figurin' ah should be documentin' these works, since me life may nah hold out long 'nuff
for them ter e'er be seen by other folks, an me worked hard in creatin' 'em.
