Chapter 2

As I started out on my path to create a name for myself in Thera, I found
myself wondering how to do such. It was not long into my time out that forces
started tempting me with offers of where and what to do with myself. My use
of the dark magic seems to either attract or repel people, and who wants me
close by. I know very well that I am not the coldest or darkness of
Necromancers, I merely lack any emotion about other people. However will
that change over time? What if I join a force that doesnt fit with what I am
or am to become?
The first choice of course is to go on my own, have no obligations to anyone
and try to build something lasting from scratch. As convent as this may be in
so many ways, it also limits my ability to use people for my goals, that are
already along the same mind set. Lasting in the lands alone is not a simple
task.
The next choice that came across my nose is the Empire, the dread lady
promised much for the oath. I have seen this Cabal in action. They wish to
bring all of Thera under their order. I am having a hard time with the idea
of how does an Empire such as this last when your subjects are forced under
to follow them. I dont know much about the livings behaviours, but I do know
when you force someone to do something there will always be those that resist
and fight back. I almost see it as living tissue trying to spread within a
dead corpse, but maybe thats just me.
My last choice is the Spire, or Tribunal as they are known. The appeal of
them to me is that they are out to protect what is there, Order and law. I
could easily find myself in their ranks making a Society stronger and being
known for that. Why start from nothing? They have the basics there I can
merely add to it, strength it and create a name for myself in the higher
ranks. There of course is a downside to this path. Many of their ranks are
elfs and or paladins and will likely be an issue should I become too strong
in my guild or in the Spire.
My choice will be made soon.
