Chapter 1

Sitting amidst the branches of the ancient thorn wreathed tree. Hakdu
reflected upon his life thus far. Time had passed quickly for Hakdu.
It seemed just yesterday that he had left his mountain cave. He had
left a cub, to right the wrongs of man.

He recalled his conversation with Bloodfang. Hakdu had come to the
refuge, seeking those whom like him would see the civilization of man
overthrown. Mreash had set him upon a task, Become a wanted man and
make it back to the great tree alive.

Hakdu remembered striking the Captain of the guard, and Immediately
retreating to the woods. He recalled the burning of the blood within
his veins as he made his way up mountains, and across rivers the
cruel vindicator on his trail. Making it back to the tree alive had
given Hakdu a great sense of accomplishment that day.

Since that day, Hakdu had been at war with the Tribunal, often
assaulting their spire, and hunting the Lawmen when they dared step
outside their beloved cities. Many had fallen to his axe.

Realizing that he was no longer a cub, but a Bear. Hakdu turned his
attention to those whom were once as he. Helping new cubs within the
tree of the ancients brought a great sense of belonging to Hakdu.
Although he is, and will always be a loner. for the first time in his
life Hakdu had come to trust, and respect others.
