Chapter 10

I've had many skirmishes with Kostyan these few tours of duty I've made. I
have noticed that it is an impossible task to outfight him when he uses his
daggers. His taunting and slaying the Maran does not stop, and I am
helpless to stop him. I know from battle wisdom what I should do is wait
for an opportunity, like an assassin. Or fight alongside a spell-hurling
ally. Perhaps, the calls of cowardice I've made against some others when I
was younger were borne of a certain hubris, that amongst those I could harm
I was strongest. Now this is not so. I shall get used to it.
