Chapter 2

Many believe the land is cruel and savage, unforgiving. And at times,
they may be right, but for those in need and willing to accept the
bounty which it offers, they can find it merciful. When thirsty, she
may cry down tears from the heavens, send the sounds of creeks or
streams to ones ears, or melt ice and snow. When starving, she might
offer sweet wild berries, hearty nuts, or wild game. Shelters in the
form of trees and caves to those needing to weather the storm.

So it is through understanding this, that Velanna seeks to help those
find their way to being with Thar-Eris, to understand the mercy the
land can offer when one seeks to return to their natural roots.

But for those who would harm the lands, murder the creatures for
sport, trample the beauty of the wilds, instead they would face
Velanna, who will move from one who tends to one who preys,
showing no mercy to those who offer cruelty and unreasonable
destruction to the tranquilty of the lands.
