Chapter 2

Every day and night she would read and reread this book. When her progress
continued, another book would arrive and then another all from this unknown
mysterious Bazii. Soon she had a small library collection as she learned
every facet of the extraplanar, the layers of the Planes and gifts waiting to
be pulled from beyond. It always felt strange, a nagging feeling in the back
of her mind, a permanent unease but she wanted to be with her kind... no, she
needed it and yearned for others that would understand.

Her local teacher, an old retired professor of the Tower, could no longer
help her and was trying to research why he had never heard of an
Azure-touched conjurer when he passed away unexpectedly in his sleep. With
the death of a friend, Miraja decided it was time to call upon her first ally
- her familiar. Her books detailed the ritual in exhaustive detail and as she
laid out the required reagents, she felt once again like something was wrong
but in mourning she pushed forward.

As she uttered the final words, the prophetic caw of an overly large Fellcrow
echoed through the village and surrounding forest. Not hearing any of this
while entranced, she softly commanded "Come forward kin and let us embrace."
