Role

Chapter 3

Battle erupted swiftly between the wood elves and the sorcerers. It was night
and the clash of steel could be herd along with the screams and cries of
casualties. The feint light of a fireball could also be seen randomly among
the chaos. Eriagwen watched silently from an outcropping above the
battle-scene eager to participate.

His father had forbidden him from joining in as his training was not yet
complete. He had to watch as his kin was burnt to death in the fiery flames
of the ill magics the sorcerers enclave was capable of.

It ended almost quickly as it had started...the battle.The wild elves
victorious in vanquishing the camp of magi. However the cost was great.
Eriagwen walked the camp in solemn silence. A scorched cousin here and
there...limbs where strewn about throughout camp both sorcerer and elf kin
alike. Eriagwen waded past the wounded until he came upon a familiar figure
lying on the ground...a great pool of crimson surrounding him.

It was at this time Eriagwen became a man. His father lay dieing...his face
charred with blackened pitch...his entrails hanging from his body. Eriagwen
clasped his fathers hand one last time as he expelled his last breath.

As he laid dying in front of his son he whispered with one final act of
defiance in the face of death..."Destroy them all....Victory..OR DEATH!!!".

Eriagwen clasped his fathers oaken poleaxe tightly...he took the heavy blade
to his hand and gripped it tightly. He winced as he sliced his own flesh and
squeezed his lifeblood onto the ground next to his father...

He whispered to himself "To War...to Victory..or be it Bloody Death!".
