Chapter 2

The piercing scream of a human female echoed through the hollow caverns
of Talshidar. The midwives looked down upon the still born child and
shrugged their shoulders slightly before it was tossed aside recklessly.
The would be son's mother too simply growled softly when she realized
what the soft silence of the bed chamber symbolized.
Sudden gasps arose from the midwives as the discarded carcass drew breath
of its own accord. Still there we no cries from the babe, only deep
breaths and a piercing gaze that seemed too haunting and malicious
for a babe, even one born of the Talshidar blood. The spark of Titivilus
had found a home.
