Chapter 4

The experiences in ones life from many different sources can have a
dramatic effect in the way a person acts or thinks. So far Jalenkan has
changed the way he acts and thinks many times although the main ideals
remain the same. His interactions with many fellow villagers has had the
largest impact on his life, some in a good way and some negative. His
most recent experience to land a large impact was the mystical words of
the sublime song.

One of the most exciting times in a warriors life is the way their heart
pounds, every single muscle fiber is twitching and tingling, and their hair
seems as though it wishes to stand on end, just before a major battle.
This is the way Jalenkan felt as Zaderas called for a rally against the dark
chasm which held the bloody head of a magician. This type of experience
has become an every day trial in Jalenkan's life and he has grown not
only to enjoy the feeling but sometimes he has a longing for it.

One thing that is somewhat of a bother for Jalenkan is the strange fact
that the village is full of so many dark hearted men and women. It is
rather perplexing how so many people can be fighting for the same cause
yet they are so very different in actions and thoughts. These men and
women for the most part treat Jalenkan with disdain and disrespect so he
feels he must prove himself in almost every situation and tends to do so
rather nicely.

A sublime song floats upon the air in the midst of a delightful day.
Jalenkan was asked by a sublime voice why he did not have
recommendations from any within the village and was somewhat short of
answers as Zaderas who he seen on rare occasions, Droghnund who
became the new drillmaster and Lalvyal who recently passed away with
whom he had spoken, were all unable to provide him with what he
needed. It wasn't long before he sought and gained the respect of two
villagers however, and his spirits soared.
