Chapter 2

Kaasi Silverharn comes from a long line of arial warriors. Most of his
family has served within the royal guard of the palace. It was while in
service to the Emperor that his grandfather was crippled in the feet. His
grandfather, Sassi, was an excellent fighter, skilled in all weapons and
forms. He was revered for his legendary status within the guard, but it was
all taken from him at the hands of a greedy mage. The mage came and attacked
arials around the city, just to experiment with the affects of lightning.
Saasi learned of this and confronted the mage. He was skilled in all forms
of war, but truly had never fought a mage. The mage used air to cripple his
wings against his body, and then struck him with a powerful bolt of
lightning. The lightning, seeking a place to go, went through his body and
out his feet. Saasi was lucky to be alive, but he did not feel lucky. The
Queen later visited and comforted him, but bade him not to press his ordeal
with her husband. As Saasi checked into these details he found that the
Emperor not only knew of this fellow, but also was friends with him. Sassi
rightly felt betrayed, and took his knowledge and retired, to only train
those who sought him with a pure heart, free of magic, and seeking its
destruction. It was under his tutelage that Kaasi came to learn his path.

When Kaasi was of an age to travel for his own, his grandfather bade him to
seek out the mighty warriors of the village, who could teach him so much more
about defense of ones beliefs, and protecting others against wiles of the
mages. It was with this charge that Kaasi has set out, to bring his
dedication and purity of spirit to the fight against magic. He will defend
his home against the onslaught, and he will help teach the world to live
without that which corrupts it.
