You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

And that's with a capital A. For a unique ability that's a specialty of the Azuretouched it currently sucks balls badly. As it stands, kick is generally a better two-round skill to do in most circumstances. Consider:

1) For it to even fire, the opponent must be evil AND wearing evil armor. In my experience it would fail 9/10 if the opponent is just evil with no armor.
2) If the first condition is true, conviction does blah damage and gives you a very small resist negative unless the opponent is wearing lots and lots of evil armor, in which case it might do blah damage twice.

I would call for flurry-like damage and useful resist negative (that at least covers the vuln). Not like one can spam it at all. Also, failure rate is way too high. It should fire on evils for a bit (half a flurry maybe), but almost always; for fair damage and resist that covers more than vuln on evil that wears some evil armor; and then go into OP berserk mode if evil is wearing lots of evil armor. Then at least it would be occasionally useful.

(Snip snip snip)

PS (I would throw in asking for the Heaven's warmth not to suck, but that would be two).

First, I think you're missing one of the ways Conviction helps you. Assuming you're fighting the right people under the right circumstances, you're getting a passive benefit from Conviction that can be quite significant.

While the actual Conviction attack itself isn't a replacement for your bread and butter attacks, I don't think it underwhelms against its intended targets as much as you do. This on top of the fact that against an opponent with 5-6 pieces of evil gear (which is admittedly on the higher end of what we typically see) the reuse timer almost completely negates your negative vuln in whole.

When you stack the passive boost to damage, the attack itself, and the resistance from its reuse timer I think you're left with a reasonably well-rounded ability.

What I will say is that we'll try to keep an eye on how this skill is playing out in the field and make sure the math remains appropriate.
