You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

#349, "Hey Santa, help cave rangers see hidden in caves?"

Cavenrdwelling rangers can't see some hidden stuff in caves, which makes little sense. If not them, then who?

Specifically, I am talking about guys like Sweeney the mad on the battlefield, or duergar guards at the entrance to Aran'Gird. Not sure about hidden PC orcs, neevr had a chance to check.

Could you please change that for caverndwelling rangers?

Maybe, on a broader scale, make it so that ranger can always see hidden in his / her home terrain?

Thanks!

'Contrarywise,' continued Tweedledee, 'if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be: but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic.'

You can see them via scan, but not when you're in the same room with them. I looked into it a couple months ago, and it's a nasty mess that I haven't had time to sit down and unravel.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

For example, a wood elf with acute vision, but not detect invis, can see invisible on scan but not in the same room.

First I've ever heard of it. The only thing I knowingly fixed is caverndwellers where they could scan and see something, but walk into the room and not see it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
