#305, "New familiars and familiar socials"
|
With the addition of several familiars who can speak and have hands, can we get some more human socials from them, instead of animal socials? Cherub, djinn, djann, ifrit, and even the old imp all can speak, and have hands, and are basically humanoid in appearance if not in physiology. For them, nodding should not make them nearly go into convulsions, growling should have them bare their teeth, etc...
Also, since they all have arms with hands on the ends of them, would it be too much to let them get things from containers, instead of just off the ground? Especially considering that most of them (I don't know about the imp) are medium size ("About the same size as you" when considering them). I can understand the animal familiars only being able to pick up off the ground, since they would be using their mouth, or talons, but these guys are more like people.
It would also be pretty cool if the more human familiars could emote as well. But if that's too much, maybe you could make that a reward for good RP or something like you did with shifters.

This is done, we can now differentiate between animal & humanlike familairs with regards to socials.
