#284, "skill improvements"

Allow me to either focus on a skill I want improved with level gains or a certain subset. ie I focus skill improvement defense- improvement goes to parry, dodge, shield block or focus skill weapons-hand to hand, mace, axe, sword, dagger.

I love the skill improvements when I gain a level but I hate that they come on a skill that isn't really useful. You could limit which skills go in what group or on which skills it applies.

P.S. Send me energy packs in mafia wars!

I've added a command (skill learn <skill/song> which will allow you to focus your bonus learning. This means you get an increased chance to learn that particular skill every level. I would guess you'd get the bonus against your particular skill about 1 every 3-4 levels on average.

>P.S. Send me energy packs in mafia wars!

I do every day

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

As your skill reaches higher percentages, will you still give the same amt of bonus percent or decrease it?

i.e. Let's say I've been using "skill learn parry" and I'm a character that learns on average 3% bonus per level gain. After time and practice, it's gone up to 95%.

Are you still going to give me 3% per level (if I pass the chance part)? Or will you slowly decrease the chance to learn that skill over time or decrease the percentage amt I gain per level (like decrease it to 2%)?

Since it's random...I don't do anything.

Assume you made it so that "skill learn {assassinate | pwk | cleave}" doesn't actually do anything?

In response to Reply #4

Syntax: skill learn <skill>

Every time you gain a level or earn experience from an Immortal you have a
chance to get a bonus (1-3%) to a random skill. By using the skill command,
you can focus that bonus learning to give you a better chance to learn a given
skill. You would end up seeing the bonus in your particular skill on average
once every three to four levels.

There are two skills that are impossible to learn this way (assassinate and
ancient instincts). It is also harder to learn to evade than any other skill
through this method.

Level 15: parry 71%

<100%hp|87%ma|100%mv|11561tnl|indoor> skill learn parry
You know no such skill.

So...yeah. Also, it looks like this isn't usable on spells, or is it?
