You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#76, "Learning weapon skills"

Allow all fighter/melee-based classes (thief, assassin, ranger, a-p, paladin) a chance to improve on a weapon skill that their opponent is using against them, similar to warriors (though perhaps at reduced efficiency compared to warriors?). Actually I don't think it would be too far-fetched to expand this to mages and commune-based classes as well, so that even them might get an improvement every once in a blue moon...

I changed it to allow thief, ranger, bard, assassin, anti-paladin, paladin a small chance to learn the weapon skill of the victim they are currently fighting, at a reduced chance compared to warriors.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
