#12, "BattleRagers - A Divided Village"

-- I had explained to Battle the climax of where the 'old heritage' changed to the 'new heritage.' Battle went through some serious changes (and disucssions) in order to move from purely Barbarians to Students of War. These changes included the divisions of Scout, Defender, Berserker and the addition of a village overhaul. The overhaul included Sappers introducing the Pillar, War Room and new huts with historic BattleRagers. The quest surrounding it was great but we definately had fun immteracting the challenges and disputes to the changes. Enjoy!

"From the perspective of Tahren"

This was in a time where the village was possibly transitioning between the "old ways" supported by Kastellyn to the "new ways" supported by Thror. I don't recall what led to this particular instance, but Thror and Kastellyn end up throwing down. Tahren and some villagers supported Thror's changes, while other villagers preferred the traditional Battlerager methodology. I was at the Forge as all this went down.

Kastellyn: BAH!
Garatolo tells you 'who said that?'

You tell Darcious 'Aye, may the fires of life burn hot for you.'

<656hp 397m 612mv>
Storm clouds gather across the sky as an angry thunder brews the scent of war.
Kastellyn: This ain't yer Village t' run no longer, wi' talk like that!
Kastellyn: Castin' down th' Tablet that's stood an' guided th' Village fer years!
Kastellyn: Without our honor, without our courage, what are we?

Thror: Defeated. That's what we are.
Kastellyn: Defeated?

As rolling thunder booms across the sky the clouds open for a brief moment, revealing an angry dwarf hammering relentlessly at the forge.
Kastellyn: Yer lads think we're defeated?

Tahren: We will be, if the two of you cannot come to terms.

Tahren: With the Lords divided, the village will be as well.

someone: We are not Defeated but our enemies are growing and we must do something to stop them.

Kastellyn: Why, it's jus' a phase we're goin' through.

Kastellyn: I seen worse!

Kastellyn: I've stood alone at th' gates o' th' Village, fightin' hoards o' stinkin' mages.
Thror: Yer ain't seen half O' what I've seen en by the nine 'ells I'm sick O' it!
someone: I have read about worse, but we are strong but our enemies are contenuing to rise and rise, before long even our strength will not match them

Kastellyn: I've fought battles that echo from the tongues of bards and minstrals across the lands.

<726hp 431m 163mv>
Thror: Sick O' it!
Stumbling into the forge is a slender figure with a half-empty mug in his hand, slurring curses at the Dwarven Thane.

Kastellyn: Yer sickness ain't th' work o' th' Village.

<726hp 454m 284mv>
The healer closes his eyes for a moment and nods at you.
You feel someone protecting you.

<726hp 454m 284mv>
Kastellyn: Its within' yerself.

Kastellyn: Is victory so important t' yer that yer would sacrifice th' very stones that line th' village walls?

Tahren: We cannot hope to win the war with such drastic losses in battle.

Tahren: But such does not mean we lose sight of our courage, our honor.

Kastellyn: So, he's got yer, Tahren.

Kastellyn: Yer been workin' his forge, smeltin' th' metal here.

<726hp 496m 518mv>
Kastellyn: Listenin' t' his poisonous words enter yer head.

<726hp 496m 518mv> cb With respect, Kastellyn, do you think that I have not also shed my blood at the village gates?
Tahren: With respect, Kastellyn, do you think that I have not also shed my blood at the village gates?

Lifting a wooden leg towards the thane the half-elf exclaims, "Ya bastard! Spreadin' ya filth an dividin' tha village! I'll break ev'ry bone in ya body!"

<726hp 515m 569mv>
someone: Courage is what has made this village great, we will not stop fighting against the odds because our strength lies not in numbers but ourselves.

Kastellyn: True words, Garatolo!

<726hp 534m 620mv>
You feel less resistant to magic.

<726hp 545m 657mv>
Kastellyn: Th' strength comes from within', in yer heart.

<726hp 545m 657mv>
The healer closes his eyes for a moment and nods at you.
You feel better!

<726hp 545m 657mv>

<726hp 545m 657mv>
Kastellyn: So what's yer answer, then?

<726hp 565m 657mv>
The healer closes his eyes for a moment and nods at the Destructor.

<726hp 576m 657mv>
The healer closes his eyes for a moment and nods at you.

<726hp 576m 657mv>
someone: I have not an answer, I can not speak to one of you without showing disrespect to another

<726hp 576m 657mv>
The healer closes his eyes for a moment and nods at the Destructor.

<726hp 576m 657mv>
Kastellyn: Bah! Speak yer mind!
Wiping soot from his face the dwarven thane turns to the minstrel and bellows, "Damn yer bard! Holtzendorff is slain! BoltThrower has abandoned us, the old ways are a narrow path te defeat!"

<726hp 596m 657mv> cb I will fight my foes, whether alone or as a whole with the village, as combat is a dynamic beast.
Tahren: I will fight my foes, whether alone or as a whole with the village, as combat is a dynamic beast.

<726hp 596m 657mv>
The healer closes his eyes for a moment and nods at the Destructor.

<726hp 596m 657mv>
someone: I spoke with the Lord and I am the one who Wrote the missive, at first I thought somewhat the same as you....

<726hp 607m 657mv>
The healer closes his eyes for a moment and nods at you.

<726hp 607m 657mv> cb But never shall my courage be questioned by any.

someone: using our upmost abilities when we can to fight our true enemy and to overcome, should not lesson what we go through when we fight against the odds as we do most of our lives.
Kastellyn: But it does, lad, it does!

someone: Thror brought to my atention that many who are not magi themselves fight alongside our enemy, and if they are taken care of quick enough then they will not be in the way any longer.

<726hp 548m 657mv>
The healer closes his eyes for a moment and nods at you.
You feel better!

<726hp 548m 657mv>
Fuming with rage the dwarven thane drops his tongs and hammer, rushing toward the bard and bowling him over!
Quickly the half-elf rolls to his feet and dodges a hearty punch, landing the wooden peg against the temple of the dwarf.

Attempting to rise to his feet the half-elf kicks , bites, punches and throws a hammer at the dwarf.
Thunder and lightning parallel the Asgardian battle, rolling across the land with fury and rage!

Braced above Thror, Kastellyn pummels away at the dwarf unaware that the forge has grown unbearably cold.

<726hp 611m 657mv>
Karguem tells you 'Heh. Yer god doesn't look too good.'
The Ancient Chamber of Hammers
Rounding the edge of the cavern's hall brings you to a grand opening that
spreads into an enormous chamber. Large granite pillars support the tons
of rock that tower over your head, providing an entrance into the secluded
cavern below. An overwhelming feeling of awe envelops you as the stunning
display unfolds before your eyes. Long halls cradle each side of the
cavern, hewn into steps that descend into the chamber. Three anvils rest
at the far edge of the hall, backed by massive twin crucibles and a
blazing marble forge. Above the domed chamber are a number of pulleys and
levers, each serving to lower the caskets of stone along winding cords of
rope. Thin vises, inlaid with gold, sit at the edge of large granite
tables, serving to steady one's work. Large bellows rest beside the
forge, their constant swoosh of air steadily stoking the forge-fires. A
single circular gouge opens at the top of the chamber, breaking through
the rough mountain stone. Light spills from the opening bathing, you in
the splendor while allowing the smoke to rise through the crevice.

Drenched in sweat, this grey-dwarf labors with a cart of iron.
(White Aura) Hoisting the bellows, this giant maintains the temperature of the forge.

You yell 'Heat the forge!'

<616hp 594m 612mv> yell All hands to the bellows!
You yell 'All hands to the bellows!'
CRACK! Like the splintering of wood the sound overcomes the two Warlords suddenly.
someone: What the Hell was that?
<637hp 551m 605mv> emote works a set of bellows in an attempt to heat the forge.
Tahren works a set of bellows in an attempt to heat the forge.

the Destructor: Sojai has joined us in the fray of battle.
