CURRENT AVAILABILITY: No Mondays, Wednesdays or Sundays – All other times vary greatly, but usually in the late afternoons to evenings CST. I’ll also note that I’m a full time student, and I am trying to get into a very competitive program. There are certain times, particularly around midterms and finals that I simply will not be around do to my school work. If one of those times is coming up, I’ll leave a message here to let any followers or potential followers know not to look for me.
E-MAIL: neltouda@carrionfields.com Feel free to e-mail me anytime, I am more than happy to answer your questions. I’m also on twitter as Captain Neltouda.
PUBLIC HELPFILE:
After centuries of traveling the sky and seas, Captain Neltouda has anchored her ship above the cliffs where the tempest consumes the sea. Packed with tall tales of her wild adventures and hoards of treasure, she has come down to the mortal world to sequester a new crew. Those who wish to become a member of the "Thundering Maiden" are driven by the rhythm of the storm, be it internal or external. The beating of thunder and claps of lightning consume their being, driving them to expel the raw force.
While all members will not be a Terror of the High Seas, they will all hold a sense of adventure and need for challenge within their hearts. For some followers, the thundering pulse drives them to ceaselessly move like a gale of wind. They explore the ins and outs of the world to share with others their tales of glory and near escapes, bringing with them a hoard of riches to prove their stories and sooth the rumbling storm.
Some followers pride themselves on releasing the storm with great works of art and boisterous compositions. They pour the intense emotions of the storm onto their desired canvas from rage, to swells of sorrow and unchallenged joy. Their delightful creations are often seen as abstract and bold, a viewable tall tale, like the unique path a tornado weaves or the unpredictable eruption of a volcano.
As the reverberating pulse of the storm calms, so do the members of the crew. In this calm followers of the Lady Tempest enjoy a time of relaxation and reflection upon her floating ship. They revel in their stolen riches, share their tales, sing bold songs, enjoy fine ale (or whatever can accomplish a state of inebriation the fastest) and general merriment.
JOINING THE CREW:
I have all followers of mine “join” my crew. The process is more of something that your character will accept rather than earn based on certain stipulations hat are discussed during your first talk with Neltouda. Persons will be titled at Stowaway, Deckhand etc. showing ranks within the crew. A Stowaway is simply someone that is just starting out, other titles are earned based on how a character matures with the religion. Some titles such as Barnacle Scrubber indicate a character is doing very poorly.
MISC RELIGION TIDBITS:
The helpfile is more of a suggestion to the types of characters that would mesh well with Neltouda. The common goal of all followers is that they work to give inspiration to others, and the definition of inspiration is something unique to each member of the crew. Because characters are expected to be inspirational, they should probably be charismatic as well. To do well within the religion consistent role play is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
I will not empower outside of my three spheres; they are Storms, Music and Greed. I will however make certain allowances for non-empowered characters to join my crew outside of my spheres as there are several spheres that would mesh well with my religion – passion, poetry, air, water, creation, knowledge etc. I will only tattoo outside of my spheres for very special characters that have demonstrated consistent role play which demonstrates their devotion to the religion as well as their role.
Followers of Neltouda are expected to be on the charismatic side – so taking edges such as repulsive simply won’t do.
I am a neutral character, and I accept any ethos/alignment for my followers. However, most necromancers, orcs and anti-paladins are probably going to have a hard time making an argument to join and excel in my crew. Evil characters are definitely welcome, but I will be looking for the suave type of evil, rather than some ruthless killer without a cause. Speaking of killing, it simply is not a requirement to be a member of my crew. In other words, if you come to me and say you are going to inspire others by killing them – We’re probably not going to get along very well.
Followers of Neltouda are not expected to incorporate all of my spheres into their roles or have some sort of nautical theme. They are also not expected to be Heralds.
Remember, it is a role playing religion. No quiet loner types allowed.
